Re: Work Available

In theory none are missing. I suspect the re-sends are automated but new generations may require some intervention so get delayed as they don't work nights or weekends, or it may just be the ones that require the time step adjust that are manual.

Re: Work Available

Sgt. Joe

Thank you. There still seem to be too many people receiving more units than they can handle. This didn't happen with IBM, but I don't know why. Maybe they don't know that the units are there! Perhaps they need an email from Krembil to tell them.

Re: Work Available

During the past 8 days, my devices have received about 150 ARP1-tasks.

On 6 April, 7 new tasks (_0 and _1) from generation 135.
On 7 April, two resends (_2) from generation 137.
On 8 April, 2 new tasks from generations 137 and 138.
On 9 April, 6 new tasks from generations 137 and 138 plus one resend from generation 138.
On 10 April, three resends from generation 138.
On 11 April, 1 new task from generation 138 plus eleven resends from generation 137.
On 12 April, 2 new tasks from generation 138 plus four resends from generations 136 and 137.
On 13 April, 3 new tasks from generation 138 plus one resend from generation 136 and fifty-eight from generation 137.
Today so far, 1 new task from generation 138 plus twenty-three both from generation 137 and from generation 138.

Unless someone reports seeing low generations from the Extreme category, considering what we see here, I'd say we're going through the higher generations first at the moment.

Re: Work Available

I got these two yesterday. They should be finished sometime today. Both of them had a variety of problems such as no reply, detached, and error.

ARP1_0027815_137_3
ARP1_0018239_137_3

Cheers

Both came back valid.
Cheers

Re: Work Available

My bad: it is an erroneous statement.
Only Boinc manager reacted too late. It was a 3 days deadline and I oversaw it.

I received yesterday an ARP1 WU as resent task with a too short due time. The machine needs around 25 hours for crunching an ARP WU and the delay was around 24 hours.
Boinc scheduler recognized the situation and put the WU as High Priority task; however the results will be returned about 3 hours after due time.
I know that it is not a problem for my machine, nevertheless it will cause a new wave of unnecessary resents.
Cheers,
Yves

PS: Happy to see that the WCG platform works again and ... even better than before the big crash regarding ARP1 distribution. Finally this particular problem was easy to solve: use of better performing storage systems !!!

Yves

That will only cause one extra re-send. As soon as you return it they will check if the extra has been checkpointed and, if not, they will server abort it. So it might not waste any crunching time.

CP

Are you sure that was a new one? I am only seeing re-sends. What is the suffix?
