Re: OpenPandemics - COVID 19 Beta Test April 20, 2020 [ Issues Thread ]

So the WUs with the 7.17 app are batches 337 and 338, right? Got 180 of those, but only 1 has started so far (getting quite a bit of FAH2 lately, so the client gives that priority). Is there really a difference between resuming with laim disabled and rebooting? I am getting lots of ARP work now, so rebooting would mean a lot of CPU time lost there... If it really is an important difference I can look for systems with relatively few ARP units.

There should not be a difference between resuming with laim disabled or rebooting. The only thing you should check is that BOINC picked up the configuration change and that requires looking at the TaskManager or ps to make sure the wcgrid* processes don't exist anymore. For some, it may just be easier to reboot. I don't reboot my machines personally very often, thus my *gasp* in earlier comment.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: OpenPandemics - COVID 19 Beta Test April 20, 2020 [ Issues Thread ]

From the last Beta batch (started on May 5th), 2 invalid WUs of about 140 WUs at this time:
BETA_OPN1_0000336_02476
BETA_OPN1_0000337_00276

The results provided by the other wingmen are invalid too (no computation error just becoming invalid at validation time).
Cheers,
Yves

Thanks for giving me those work unit names. I'll need to see why the result from 337 was invalid as it should have the build fix for the batches.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

This was an issue with the build script. You can see the problem in the logs where the first dpf (Job #0) does not finish any dockings before starting Job #1...

337_00276 is invalid due to an overflow that was caused by our build script. We had not caught that issue yet and it's an easy fix. Thanks!

Note: At the moment, I'm mainly concerned about results for batch 337 and 338 having invalids. There were many in 333-336 that were caused by a build script issue that has been corrected.

I had no invalids from 337-338. All my invalids so far were from 333-336.
