Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

Exactly 13 hours and already 2.8GB, and a big portion gets moved to virtual memory, not to be confused with Virtual Machine which I may have caused to be understood.

Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

Yes. sad
Well ... with another Firefox with many open tabs and many other open programs (Boinc Manager, an antivirus, music, VPN, torrent, DLNA running a transmission ...), I use 10.3GB of 15.7GB. I still have a lot of memory. biggrin

Google Colab, this has a couple of things to it, but it's fun basically adding 10 cores to my 4C/8T Ryzen PC :)

Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

I've succeeded continuing from the last checkpoint on Colab lately, thanks to the help of zolople. It needs some babysitting, twice a day, doesn't it? wink Haven't tried more than 2 notebooks yet, let alone 5. devilish

Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

Five works well but every now and then, regardless of how many are opened, it becomes "busy". Right now, I have 3 notebooks running and 2 notebooks on busy status.
Still, it does good work!

Thanks for the tip, zolople!

Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

You can have up to five notebooks per google account, but the resource limit is reached very quickly and they stop. It is better to have only one or two note books per account. Up to ten accounts can be open in a single browser.

Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

Finally ran out of free credit at GCP.
Looks like I returned about 22,000 results. Mostly SCC, OPN1 and MCM.
Several years of computing.

It only lasted this long because of pre-emptive instances.

Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

I find that running ARP1 can cause BOINC client on Google Colab to create new cross-project ID. So I end up disabling requesting it.

Re: crunching in Google Cloud or IBM cloud?

Zolople's Google Colab script and idea works really well with GPU's.

I easily get 12 hours a day of GPU computing at Einstein@home, running one session on each of my 3 Google Accounts. After the 12 hours or close to that, when I restart each session at night, it usually lasts only a few minutes.
Colab offers 4 different Nvidia cards:

Nvidia P4 (the slowest, I think)
Nvidia K80
Nvidia T4
Nvidia Tesla P100 (the most powerful, runs an Einstein@home FGRPB1G task in 550 seconds or so)

They should do well on OPN1 once the GPU application launches, hopefully with both CUDA and OpenCL support.
