Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

I had been aborting the units I had assuming all bad.
Just checked and some had progressed through a few jobs OK before appearing to hang.
Suspended tasks to leave a CPU free and left 1 running.
Windows 7 64 bit with Intel GPU.

30 tasks in PV. 16 Intel tasks and 14 AMD tasks. Just one fail on AMD. All on Windows 10.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Good afternoon,

A few things that we've been working on today.

1. We found 2 instances in the code that could have been interpreted as double precision and have corrected those as well as some other minor compile warnings.
2. We will be testing this updated version in Alpha as version 7.27 to see how it performs in that environment.
3. The researchers are working towards getting us production versions of their work units.
4. I have not had time to look into the points being issued yet.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Thanks Keith. Any time frame of when we'll see the next round of betas?

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Unfortunately I do not have an exact timeline for the next round of beta. Going from my current trends, I have been starting them towards the end of the work week.

As mentioned above, there are a few requirements that will probably happen before we get to the next beta. Steps 2 and 3 need to happen first.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Out of curiosity: Anyone ran this on a NVIDIA Quadro P400?

I don't think this workunits will use double presision but i'm still interested in how this quite unexpensive, available and not powerhungry card would perform (if it actually can run it).
