Driver: 10.18.10.3907
Mine is driver version 10.18.10.3621, so very close. But maybe I'll look for a newer one in the morning.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Got another on my Intel HD4600 and it ran fine, even though I was watching YouTube videos at 2x speed. Maybe just took a slight bit longer to complete the unit, but it wasn't that much more time.

One thing I noticed is that the current credit system goes by CPU time instead of time elapsed. On AMD/Nvidia, they seem to be about the same, so it's all good there. But on my Intel graphics units, they are very disproportionate. .07 hrs CPU time vs 1.25 hrs Elapsed time. So it looks like .4 BOINC credits (about 3 BOINC points) for 1.25 hrs of Intel GPU crunching is what is awarded. I wonder if there's a way to account for this difference when it comes to awarding credit.

Great! I guess the servers will get hammered with work requests soon :)

How large will this beta batch be in terms of min quota x released WUs @uplinger?

This beta will have a total of 34,491. This will be sent out in pairs to start, but once machines start validating on it, then it'll work similar to other OPN1 results.

Thanks,

Second finished iGPU task
i7-4790K/iGPU HD4600
Workunit: BETA_OPNG_0022004_00080_0
Runtime: 00:59:21 CPU Time: 00:03:08 Long time average CPU%: 5.30

Looks good for me, but not that others have problems with iGPU HD4600

Edit: NVIDIA tasks now incoming here.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Thanks for providing that information!

The intel GPU WU on my macbook finished successfully within ~1h. ETA timing was on spot. Now in PV.

For this beta run on my NVIDIA cards, I tried an app_config file settings to let every GPU crunch 2 tasks concurrently. GPU util while still having short drops to ~0%, is much less 'spiky' and the load is sustained longer on the ~100% level. I expect throughput to be higher with this setting compared to only allowing one WU at a time.

Edit: I tried running 3 at a time now, and everthing is running smoothly. Additionally, I tried suspending the tasks during computation and then conitinuing them, not always being sure if the tasks were conitinued on the same GPU or handed over.... But everthing seems fine and is working as expected

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Is there a way to run 2 WUs on Nvidia and only 1 on Intel? Have tried different configs but can´t get it to work, either both cards run 1 or 2 WUs.

My current app_config

<app_config>
<project_max_concurrent>10</project_max_concurrent>
<app>
<name>beta29</name>
<plan_class>opencl_nvidia_102</plan_class>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>.5</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>.9</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>beta29</name>
<plan_class>opencl_intel_gpu_102</plan_class>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>.9</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

Idk, but we interested in this too. I could imagine this would be doable somehow, especially your GPUs are from different brands/architectures.

Sth maybe worthwile pointing out, is that I am seeing a much higher wrtite rate on my SSD than was discussed earlier this year. I stopped all background processes and am seeing with 6 GPU tasks running at a time between 8 - 15 MB/s.
