Re: Work unit availability

These new longer WUs suck for points.

And yes, I'm a points whore because that's my satisfaction for running projects along with helping the science.

Longer should mean more points rewarded!

Re: Work unit availability

WU's from batches 45070 and 45308 are running shorter than the previous long runners.
The Init.AutoGrid CPU-only-phase is about a third as from the longer ones.

Maybe, they went to Credit Screw. This explains all, if so. :D

LOL "Credit Screw" ... absolutely the correct way to pronounce that.

Re: Work unit availability

The kitties are worried this morning. The supply of OPNG work seems to be drying up and their kibble bowl is emptying.
And now the work server has been down for over half an hour.

Meow?

Re: Work unit availability

Kittyman, it is probably the planned maintenance outage that is happening, so hopefully the kitties can go take a nap in the sun and then come back and munch some more.

Re: Work unit availability

The kitties thank all of you for letting them know about the maintenance.
Now, if they would just open the kibble chute again and refill the OPNG kibble bowl, the kitties would be even happier!

Meow!

Re: Work unit availability

Hello Everyone. I'm hoping to receive GPU Covid Work Units but I have none. I WAS receiving them about a month or so ago but then they suddenly stopped. I've tried using Local Preferences as well as Web Based and there is no difference. I'm wondering if they don't have enough to give out to people? Thank you for the help.

Apologies, if anyone is wondering, I'm using a GTX 1070 and it has the latest Nvidia drivers. Also have the latest Boinc Client. Thanks.

Edit: Not sure if someone was reading this thread or it was sheer coincidence but I just received a GPU Work Unit.

Re: Work unit availability

Yeah, that's pretty much it. There is not enough GPU work generated to keep many hungry GPUs busy all the time. The kitties were almost out and they got lucky to get 8 more in the kibble bowl to keep them munching for a little while yet. They will probably run out in a few hours.
Hope you had some luck and got a few more after that last one.

Meow
