There's no credit granted at all for invalid work. Not that it matters much, if this "invalid" issue stops now. Example: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...s.do?workunitId=628436521 Edit: Some WU's though produces a mix of "invalid" and "valid" results, and in those cases the valid results are given credit, but the invalid results are not. Thanks for an example. I need to look at the code to see why that is the case, it should have granted credit and I apologize that it did not. I was looking at some other comments that looked like they were granted ~100 points...Let me see what I can do. Thanks, -Uplinger |

No need to apologize at all, it was a given that a new GPU project would encounter problems. |

Ok, initial looks are this...during validation, the result is marked as invalid before I review the percentage complete on it. This means that the result is considered at 0 % complete and gets multiplied by 0...thus 0. I'm confirming this is what is happening and a simple move of where the percentage is calculated being moved up higher in the code should be the simple fix. Thanks, -Uplinger |

All (ok most lol) of my 60 pages of Invalids have not been granted any credit. The few that have got less than 1 point.

That leads to another maybe interesting question. Normally in BOINC IIRC, if you turn in a task that is indeed invalid, you do not get any credit for it. But in this case, the invalid ones are somewhat fake invalids. So, how would you deal with a computer that turns in "real" invalids, and rarely nothing else? Should that computer also be given a credit for its invalid tasks? Edit: If "real" invalids also gets a credit, that may open a whole can of worms, for some people deliberately spewing out invalids in a fast pace, just to get credits. Thanks, -Uplinger I personally don't care about the credits either way, but I'm sure it'll be asked by others. So for the sake of clarity, this change to credit award for invalids will only be "going forward" and not "retroactive", yes? you're not planning to go back and award credit to previous invalids? ![]() EPYC 7V12 / [5] RTX A4000 EPYC 7B12 / [5] RTX 3080Ti + [2] RTX 2080Ti EPYC 7B12 / [6] RTX 3070Ti + [2] RTX 3060 [2] EPYC 7642 / [2] RTX 2080Ti |

This specific old work unit have 2 invalid, 2 Valid, and the last one is "TOO LATE" 0 granted credits. All tasks was returned in less then 12 minutes. Do we have to rush to return tasks as soon as possible?
OPNG_0004122_00565 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...s.do?workunitId=628768943 OS, Status, Sent time, Return time, CPU,Claimed / Granted Going past the old work units, the newer one looks like it works with much better credits with no invalids so far. OPNG_0004975_*, 8 work units valid, 617 - 710 granted credits OPNG_0004891_*, 4 work units valid, 577 - 589 granted credits OPNG_0005008_*, 8 work units valid, 507 - 778 granted credits |

All (ok most lol) of my 60 pages of Invalids have not been granted any credit. The few that have got less than 1 point. Ok, so I sorted and deleted a bunch of WUs with in the batches supposedly bad. Will these WUs be sent back out to someone else or caught and deleted/aborted by server? |

Edit: If "real" invalids also gets a credit, that may open a whole can of worms, for some people deliberately spewing out invalids in a fast pace, just to get credits. How would they do that if they're just letting things run? I for one would like to get credit for the 500 or so invalids I've processed but if I don't it won't matter to me.
