I was confining myself to WCG when offering the advice. Personally, my CPU is entirely WCG but my GPU is doing Einstein. I couldn't get valid results for OPN on my GPU so switched to Einstein's BRP4 which will run successfully without restriction to my threads.

Acibant
Note that if you are opted in to other projects (and you will be if you are only using half your threads for ARP) and you don't specify limits either for concurrent or maximum downloaded units for those other projects, the client could then legitimately just download and process only units for those and ignore ARP. Seems I got caught on this. It had stopped picking up ARP so I made some adjustments: ARP 5, MCM/OPN/MIP 7 each, SCC/HST unlimited for a total of 26 for a 24 thread CPU. There's no action on the last 2. Will see. |

MIP has finished, SCC is paused and HST is intermittent. A 24 thread machine should be able to run 12 ARP OK.

I must have goofed somewhere. No more ARPs. All I see is MCM and OPN. Backtracking changes one by one.

We are also now running close to empty on ARP at the moment. Each unit requires the previous generation to validate before being produced,

It seems to be back to normal. The only change I backtracked was the limit set in the XML file and not convinced this was it. Letting my profile do that set at 5 ARP.
----------------------------------------Before setting limits for the other non ARP projects in the profile (default unlimited) it had download tons of files into the cache (all MCM and OPN). No wonder I got no ARPs. It had enough work in cache and did not need to download anything. Think I will leave this micromanagement alone and not touch any more options. and you don't specify limits either for concurrent or maximum downloaded units for those other projects, the client could then legitimately just download and process only units for those and ignore ARP I would really like to see the computer logic which causes this effect or did I get caught on:We are also now running close to empty on ARP at the moment [Edit 1 times, last edit by BobbyB at Aug 5, 2021 4:11:56 PM] |

Have you adjusted app_config.xml to allow for the end of MIP? That makes the 26 you referred to earlier only 19. Add a 2 or 3 extra to keep fully occupied. Your profile cache should be set to 2 or 3 extra per project. Any more and you start to slow down the turnaround. ARP, OPN & MCM are readily available, OPN & MCM immediately and ARP may take a few minutes, so you do not need a large cache. Mike |
