Re: Hardware Recovery Update

KerSamson said: "You need a quantified and realistic plan."

Excellent points, all.

My assumption has been that WCG just needs to be at the same level of technology and expertise that it was when IBM ran the show, so that would be the plan, the 'business vision' you rightly expect.

Now the team just needs enough operating cash to get there - IBM had no shortage of funding, but apparently WCG does, so let's all help them in this effort.

I have been contributing $5 per month in electricity ALONE since 2007, and I can afford another $5 per month in donation - after all, I got a 2% raise at work last December ! biggrin

Thank you for any donation you can make

Re: Hardware Recovery Update

Personally I am ready to make a donation of 5, 10, 15$ per month if it can allow WCG to continue to live. This project has existed for too long, we must continue and find solutions !

Re: Hardware Recovery Update

It would not take that much effort to give daily updates on the progress. We get bits and pieces of information days apart. It is very frustrating to the people who are waiting with days of data and not being able to get more work.

The donation site previously listed does not work.

Re: Hardware Recovery Update

Go to https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/donations and click the blue box at the bottom-left of the page.

It looks like posting the direct donation link chops part of it off and makes it unusable.

I made a donation using the above information. Let's hope we can get this thing back on the track.

Re: Hardware Recovery Update

I hope I'm not asking a question that has already been answered but is this why my boinc has said "ready to report" and "uploading" for the same tasks for a little over 10 days or is that due to a different issue?

Re: Hardware Recovery Update

Yes, this is the reason uploads and new work units aren't working. The forums and website are up, but the actual WCG is still down.
