Re: OPN1 supply update

I note that we seem to be getting OPNG April 2021 retreads (as noted elsewhere). I'm curious as to why this is happening; information from WCG would be welcomed :-)...

Cheers - Al.

Re: OPN1 supply update

Brummig,
There are no, or very few, OPN1 tasks left because the OPN team is focussing on GPU tasks (OPNG). See: Thread: April OPN project update
So if your Rasberry Pis are running Linux, there will be no, or very little, work for them.
You could perhaps try running Android on them. My ARM-based SBC is running MCM and SCC tasks on Android.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: OPN1 supply update

Thanks, Mark. The Pies have switched themselves to other projects, so I'll leave them to it.

In the category 'Difficult acronyms' winkSBC

I understand that SBC = Single Board Computer. cool

Re: OPN1 supply update

Adri,
'Difficult acronyms'
I must stop using TLAs ... sorry, "three letter acronyms". biggrin
I've received 47 OPN1-tasks yesterday
This must be from the remaining workunits mentioned in Thread: May 2023 workunit update
I'm surprised there are still some left.
Cheers,
Mark

Well, that's not an option if your RPi is actually serving a RL purpose... wink

Re: OPN1 supply update

I wonder if this is the end for opn bages. It's difficult to get a few year's runtime from GPU tasks.
Maybe they could start looking into parallel badges based on points or results.
I know it's a bit silly, but people like chasing badges, and it gives a little bit of incentive to keep going.

True, but - like I always say in these types of cases biggrin - it is what it is.

It's silly indeed (sorry wink ), 'cause the numbers of points and results are already an incentive. laughing
