Yes it’s been happening since last Friday what so 1st March. MCM1 work units dropped off the chart that day nearly completely and only a few resends here or there or occasional new work unit. Apparently OPNG (open pandemics network graphics afaik) tasks are available still but no communication from Krembil, specifically TigerLily on what on earth is going on. Pretty annoying really, and it has already led to NixChix leaving WCG for good apparently (see a prior post). This isn’t really good enough, and I have had to switch off my crunching PC. There has been speculation that it is somehow due to task assimilation/purging/deletion going on possibly causing hardly any new work units for MCM1 to go out but until someone from Krembil posts on here about it we won’t really know for sure. And so I have been pretty much idle for at least a week now. I run small cache of 0.1 day. Perhaps other people have more detailed info for you, however it is scattered across a few recent threads which you can read for yourself, however this is all I know at the moment. This is my interpretation of things, but i don’t have a detailed understanding of things like some of the others do and can even find out how many work units have been sent out on the grid. Either this or “normal” amount of work units are going out and just a few machines are hoovering them all up or hogging them all and nobody seems to realise. It would have been nice for someone from Krembil to have let us all know as soon as possible why we are or hardly anyone is getting any MCM1 work units. Sincerest apologies from me on their behalf!

Same here, I am getting almost no new workunits for a fews days one. Very sporadically I get 5-10 workunits or so (almost all of them resends), but nothing substantial.

My buffers are getting almost empty.

And since it is weekend, don't expect any solution for at least another week, maybe more.

I passed on the issue of limited work unit availability to the tech team a couple of days ago. The purging of the backlog of MCM1 work units is responsible for the low flow of work units, since assimilation has lowered the amount of resources available to send out work units. The tech team is currently working on deploying additional servers to send out work units and will continue to monitor the issue.

As for OPNG, I posted this update about the current run of OPNG being complete. The team plans to send out new OPNG work units later this month.

As I've stated before, being new to WCG and it being the only DC I'm running, communication is very poor. I get it that this is a volunteer service and limited budget on the paid side but with DC already in a big decline over the years, those of us on the fence people are really questioning how much value is coming out of any project and the lack of caring really looks bad and if they did care, they would communicate. They do not. How much time would it take to simply post a few sentences in a designated read-only area? 5 minutes. How much would it cost? Nothing.
