Streak reset despite completed workunits every day

Hi,

2 days ago, on 2024-03-19 my streak count reset to 0 despite having completed workunits every day.

Anyone else seen this?

Mine is also 109 days.

What I don't know is what constitutes a day for the streak. I presume that it is 00:00 to 23:59, but which timezone? To my mind there are 2 possibles. For an international project, it should be GMT (UTC) but it could be Toronto.

My history shows returns for every day with a low of 6 on March 20, so I know something is wonky. However, I still stand by my initial comment of I don't care about this number and it is irrelevant.

In doing a little checking, I noticed the heat map on the overview page is missing March 11. If I download the history from the heat map, March 11 populates the download. Both the history and download from the heat map show 156 work units returned that day, but in the heat map itself March 11 is missing. Very strange. Probably some database glitch.

I have noticed the same issue where my streak gets reset to zero even though I have had units validated every day. The stats get updated every 12 hours. Based on my observations, it appears the streak gets reset to zero if you don't have any validated in a 12 hour period. Obviously it shouldn't be like that.

The streak is a measure of WCG’s processing, not mine and is of no interest.

Currently my streak shows 14 days. Both my heat map and my activity chart show zero WUs for March 9th but my results show that I returned 19 valid WUs that day - I process, they don’t validate, my streak ends?

My understanding is that the data in History represents results validated, rather than returned, on a particular date.

By contrast, the streak is based on results returned on a particular date. See knreed's post here.

It follows that a person's streak could fall to zero (as mine has) despite having results shown as "returned" continually in the History data (as is the case for me).

I do not believe the date changes in the history when validated. It shows a date returned when awaiting validation or verification and I believe that date does not change when validated. I am back to the database glitch.
I am done worrying about it either way.
