That's a very bad bit of phraseology from the server code -- what it actually means is that there are applications available that can do GPU work, not that there is actual work available.
So although there's no GPU work available (OPNG on hiatus at the moment!) so you can't get any, these messages still appear, especially if you have got your profile(s) set to only include the type of GPU(s) you have got! [Apologies if you already knew that, or if I totally misunderstood your question :-)] I had a look at the server code for an older version a while back and I couldn't see an easy way to make it actually tell the truth -- the section that produces those messages doesn't have access to the unsent work counts. Cheers - Al. P.S. any fix for that which didn't pile a huge overhead on the database would need to cache available work counts [or availability status] somewhere and only refresh the counts every hour (say) -- any similarity to how the standard BOINC Server Status page works is entirely coincidental, of course :-) |
