Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Happy New Year fellow crunchers!

I received an email from a new team member asking about the team site. There have been some unfortunate things that have happened between my fellow domain co-owner and myself, the result of which was that I pulled out of RedHorizonRising. (RHR was where the AAAA site was hosted.) Because of this, the AAAA team website is now unavailable. It will have to remain so until/unless I aquire a new domain and host. My apologies to you all, this was not something I had foreseen... I hope that you will all continue to crunch for AAAA and to hear from you here in the forums.

Howdy! Bummer about the fallout. Co- things are always difficult. Hope everything turns out. Happy New Year and Merry Christmas, too! I'm still going! My computer turned 1 recently, so it's time to upgrade. (My birthday's coming up so it might really be time to upgrade!)

*blinks* Holy crow! That's insanity! Nice job!

We're currently contemplating adding a new lappy to the family. (And thus more comping for wcg.) But, we're also in dire need of a new TV. For now it's a huge toss up.

(Sorry for the lack of posting. I've sort of been avoiding the internet and email for the last month or so...)

Avoiding the internet? Must be nice! Me, I'm addicted to it, but admitting it is the first step to recovery, right?

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Pah! Yeah, I've been 'there' before. A friend of mine and I used to say we needed IAA classes. Internet Addicts Anonymous. Ah the nostalgia... Staying up all night chatting, surfing the chatrooms, the "uh-oh!" of ICQ *sigh* Alas it is no more. At present I barely even check my email anymore when I used to check it every time I walked by the computer. A well, at least I still keep connected to run WCG no?

I've been pondering getting another website. I'm looking at HostPapa. Have you heard anything about them? They sound good, cheap, and run on green energy (which really drew me in). They have good reviews that I've read so far, but I've never paid a company for hosting before and just wondered if you knew anything about them (or had any favorites).

The site would mainly be for my commission artwork, but I'd of course reserve a corner to get our team site back up. : )

Oops, haven't checked back in a while!

Sorry, I've never heard of HostPapa before. The only place I've ever considered is http://www.revolutionhosting.net/, because it was advertised on MegaTokyo. (My site is still on Angelfire!)

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

So the other day, I passed two milestones: 10,000 results and 4,000,000 points! Yay me! Or, yay my computers, more like it!

Re: Anime Addicts Against AIDS

Holy crow man, congratulations!

My next milestone will be my two year run time mark. It's approaching slowly, but surely. We haven't been running on our end as consistently as usual, a trade off for trying to conserve energy. We're getting more into the "green thing" here and two of the things we're doing are shutting down the computer a few times a week and purchasing green energy credits from our power company. So, it's affecting my totals some, but I'm still plugging along : )
