Re: smile smile smile Join "My Online Team" Today smile smile smile

Merry Christmas guys, from a newbie!

Dave - how did you get that nice picture on your email? Is it a photo of your own?

All the best,

Matt

Matt --
With two Daves on the team, sometimes we get confused as to which of us is being referred to. I think you meant the picture of Christmas candles in my earlier post. Yes, it is a picture I took with my Canon PowerShot S100 Digital Elph. A friend is a floral designer and the arrangement was one of her decorations during Christmas, 2002. I uploaded the image to a photo sharing website I use and then used the normal psuedo-HTML used in this forum to reference it. The code is similar to what you use in your signature. For example, I would love to offer each of my team mates a pint of my homebrew:

The code to display that was (with "{" used instead of "[" so it can be seen):

{img]a7.cpimg.com/image/A1/15/54790817-2f27-007900C8-.jpg{/img]

Hope that explains how it was done.

Subject: Fwd: Christmas Thanks!

Christmas Thanks:

Dear friends and colleagues, my heartfelt appreciation goes out to all of you who have taken the time and trouble to send e ‘forwards’ over the past 12 months. Thank you for making me feel safe, secure, blessed, healthy and bringing many a tearful smile to my face.

Extra thanks to whoever sent me the email about rat poop in the glue on envelopes - because I now have to go get a wet towel every time I need to seal an envelope. Also, I scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason. Because of your genuine concern, I no longer drink Coca Cola because it I know it can remove toilet stains, which is not exactly an appealing characteristic.

I no longer check the coin return on pay phones because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS. Or sit in cinema seats for the same reason.

I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day in Mumbai. I won’t visit shopping centres because someone might drug me with a perfume sample and harvest my kidneys. Or if I did survive the shopping I would be car-jacked by a piece of paper. If I tried to phone for help, my mobile phone would either melt in my hands or cost me £700 in charges thanks to that '074' number you warned me about.

I no longer eat KFC because their ‘chickens’ are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers.

Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about my soul because at last count I have 363,214 angels looking out for me. Thanks to you I have learnt that God only answers my prayers if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl on the internet who is about to die in the hospital (for the 1,387,258th time). All my other accounts have been cleaned out after helping the bank’s security department to verify my details.

Of course, that will all change once I receive the £15,000 that Microsoft are sending me for participating in their special on-line email program. No forgetting my cases of Champagne from Veuve Clicquot, of course. I think I would get even more, except I daren’t use my PC for more than a few minutes, in case I reply to that email you said would make my hard drive explode with a noise like a Hertfordshire oil depot.

Yes, I want to thank you all so much for looking out for me that I will now return the favour! If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 7 minutes, a large pigeon with a wicked case of diarrhoea will land on your head at 5:00 pm (GMT). I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbour’s, ex-mother-in-law’s, second husband's, cousin's beautician.

Only then will you be able to enjoy the festive season with your special friends and family and prepare well for the New Year.

.... Oh, and Have a nice day! Best wishes for the festive season!!

++++

Sigh - I am struggling with uploading my photos. Do you happen to know of any freebie sites this side of the pond?

Worse still, I am now being paged to go and help tidy out one of my teenager's rooms - aaargh! So much for relax time.

Cheers for now,

Matt
