Does WCG have a nice screen saver like Einstien?

WHen my Boinc comes on screen saver, ist the simple flosting box, not the elabaorte GRID deal like the others. I dont see a way to change the screen saver at the website? Am I missing something?

Hello albaby,
We have a screensaver for the UD client, but do not have one yet for BOINC. Rosetta@home posted several weeks ago that their trial screensaver needed 150 MB of RAM. sick

Evidently, it must be tricky learning how to program a screensaver for BOINC.

I guess I'm confused since my other two boxes have that SETI screen saver, so I assumed that WCG had one to?

Im guess Im still confused, as my BOINC on my other two boxes has a fancy screen saver? One is a Mac, one is Windoz box. But they are Eienstien@Home and Seti@Home... is that the difference?

Right albaby,
Each project designs its own screensaver. WCG has 2 projects running on BOINC, but 0 screensavers for BOINC.

Any updates with a BOINC screensaver?

It would attract more people to the project if there was one. Seems a bit unfair that UD programmers have spent the time building a screensaver for their client but no one can be boathered to make one for the BOINC client.

It doesn't matter if it uses extra CPU cycles, it's a good way to teach people/children about sciene.

Agreed. There has been some work done, but I think it is on hold right now as we debug HPF2. Eventually we will get the BOINC graphics up and running.

There has been some work done, but I think it is on hold right now as we debug HPF2. Eventually we will get the BOINC graphics up and running.

I hope it'll be made up ASAP, since this feature can gain more active members:)
