Hello zombie67, The World Community Grid has 2 different interfaces, the BOINC client and the UD (United Devices) client. If you go to the WCG download page and download the Windows client, you will get the UD client. It is extremely simple, but does not offer all the options that BOINC does. Lawrence Thanks. It never occured to me, since I joined using my mac, and only BOINC is mentioned during that process. After I posted this, I noticed the forum right above this one. Duh. Getting back to the original question... Neither of the clients export credit data directly to stat pages like BOINCstats. That comes from the various projects' servers, right. So why is it that BOINCstats picks up only the BOINC credits and not the UD credits? Does BOINCstats filter out the UD credits when importing, or does WCG filter out the UD credits when exporting? Thanks again. ![]() |

Hello zombie67,
does WCG filter out the UD credits when exporting? That is pretty close. The points are calculated very differently for UD and BOINC. When we started comparing them, we decided that, on average, we should consider a BOINC point to be the equivalent of 7 UD points, so that is what we show on the web site. But it is apples and oranges. As many people are shorted by this equivalence as gain by it. So UD credits cannot be rolled into BOINC credits (at least, not without valid accusations of unfairness). I noticed that my total points were not updated last last few days by the firefox plugin (it stopped counting at 56,755.29 points). It may depend on the relying source at boinc.netsoft-online.com:
----------------------------------------http://boinc.netsoft-online.com/get_user.php?...46cbf12a728929&html=1 However boincstats shows the right points: http://boincstats.com/stats/boinc_user_graph.php?pr=bo&id=517807 I think the relying source at boinc.netsoft-online.com is not appropriate. Could the total stats be retrieved from boincstats instead? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 16, 2006 8:34:35 PM] |

The Firefox plug-in was developed by a person, not related to WCG. Contact him thru his forum thread http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=27954. He twice fixed a reported problem by return. Except for the global totals, all individual projects seem to report correct numbers.

Contact him thru his forum thread http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=27954. He twice fixed a reported problem by return. Seems, that the forum is temporarilay unavailable. I'll try later again! Except for the global totals, all individual projects seem to report correct numbers. Yes, that's right! But total stats are hanging 2,000 points now! There is a reason given by Netsoft for the problems:
Please note - the data is in transition to a new set of tables. Ranking display and graphs that show current data will be online soon. |

Not to ignore our significant group of Linux crunchers, here's a little gem that keeps all the participated BOINC stats in the system tray.
