smile Re: Join "My Online Team" Today

Welcome to the team Pconfig. applause

Incidently, Belgium was in our nightly news yesterday, Saturday, December 18, for ceremonies in Bastogne presided over by Belgium's King Albert II to honor the 19,000 American soldiers killed and the nearly 61,000 wounded there 60 years ago in the Battle of the Bulge. Thank you and your countrymen for remembering their sacrifices all those years ago.

angry Re: Join "My Online Team" Today

Sorry guys I am not leaving the team has such. I'm leaving the AMERICAN grid. I can't trust an organisation so controlled by itd governement. That scares my to think what they could do with our collective computing power. angry

Re: Join "My Online Team" Today

Morning MCBLA,
This is a sad day for everyone involved in this project. Could I ask you to revisit this thread
and to reconsider in the cold light of day your protest.

Dave

sad Re: Join "My Online Team" Today

Morning MCBLA --

I would really like you to reconsider as well. Yes, the United States has imposed sanctions on several countries, but many of us do not fully agree with these policies in all instances. I pointed out that there are several cultural and educational exchanges with Cuba, so I don't think it is necessary to ignore the fact that they exist. I think that the administration or technicians of the WCG are either trying to be politically correct by not including these countries in a pull-down or they are being naive in thinking that by not listing the countries the WCG will appear to be conforming to regulations regarding software distribution to these countries. It is my hope that this decision will be revisited by the WCG.

sad Re: Join "My Online Team" Today

Hello MCBLA,

This is sad to see you leave. I can partly understand your reaction.
When I first joined WCG I was quite enthusiastic and seduced by the fact that it was a world community effort for a noble purpose. I’m French and I first thought that I’ll join a French team. But browsing the WCG forums I quickly and sadly realised that jingoism was prevailing in some of these national teams. So I didn’t want to play a part in this friendly war between countries.
That’s why I joined “My Online Team” because it’s an international team with members helping this project to work in a world community way, regardless your country, religion or whatever. And there are plenty of teams out there with the same motivation.

So let’s not stop here!

Sadly WCG is not giving the best example by excluding these countries. Every law has a loophole so I’m sure they’ll find a way to put these countries back in the world and show the way.

Rej, I would really like you to reconsider as well.

Aldeb
