Down with the US

I am really, really sorry to see the way things turned out. I did mention to David in a chat that I am not politicized. But yet, I keep an eye on what goes on in the world.
I was accused of being illiterate after making a typo on the second time I wrote ‘majority’. Then the same person decided that the action taken again Cuba was international law. How superficial and self centered can you get? Pconfig is right when he make the stats on who voted for Bush. He is right unless all those that did not vote already expected and approved the second Bush election. I think not. ![]() But that does not change the fact that the US government (not the Americans in general) is arrogant and dangerous. Any organization that accept to boycott the people of an other country based on an law that prohibits sales of software to that country is dead wrong. The WCG software is if I am not mistaken useless outside it working environment. So, they (WCG) are just making a gesture of bigotry against the people of an other nation. I was also accused of being a hypocrite. Big word coming from a supporter of a government that cheats and lies. Where are the Weapons of mass destruction in Irak? How is it that they (USA) can drag soldiers from an other country place them in a military base outside the USA so they can avoid giving them the most basic rights? How can the USA claim to defend democracy by invading a country governed by a tyrant and then torture the same people they are suppose to help? The heroes that becomes the oppressors! The same country that declared a ban on anti personnel mines, but claim it needs it for the protection of its own troops. The other countries don’t use mines to keep the sheeps in the field do they? ![]() Enough about this. In the last few days, I had time to think about all this and believe me, it hurts me more then anyone would ever imagine. With ‘My Online Team’ I had found new contacts with super brilliant people. I have the sentiment of letting them down. I would never do anything negative toward that nice bunch of great people. ![]() But how can I trust WCG? I give myself until after the holydays to think about it some more. To my American friends, yes I do have some of them, don’t take my comments personally. Unless you support all your government conniving actions. Thank you to those who support at least the principal behind my action. |

First off, you failed to mention that I did apologize in my very next post about the typo. I never said you were illiterate either. The international law thing.......whatever. What has America ever done to you? Do you realize how childish you sound. Chill out dude.....and post on the correct forum next time.........and by the way..........if you don't trust in the project that we [the world] are all contributing to.....then get the hell off of the grid! And another thing................I have nothing against the French. They haven't done anything to me. But I do have something against you, and until you show some basic respect towards Americans in general, I will continue to have something against you. In all countries there will be crime. Indeed, in all countries at war the crimes can be severe. The differentiating factor is that the USA holds it's citizens and soldiers accountable for the crimes in question. The punishment is generally swift and severe. Yet many in the world turn a blind eye to the slaying of our Prisoners of War. In one instance you have mild torture and in the other you have our soldiers begging for their life in front of a camera before they get shot in the head - which is then placed on their government hosted website for the world's amusement.
People would like to point fingers at who came up with the faulty intelligence on the alleged WMD's, but the fact remains that most would agree that Iraq is a better place without Saddam. Lest we forget, in 1990 he invaded Kuwait and in less than 4 hours he had taken Kuwait and controlled 24% of the worlds oil supplies. It seemed as if his next target was Saudi Arabia. Yes war sucks for everyone, and it is likely a significant contibuter to the weak economy but the essense of war is that sometimes you have to do what is wrong in order to do what is right - keeping a goal towards the greater good. Imposing sanctions against Cuba is largely a negotiations tactic, and of which will not expire until Castro relinquishes his authority. I'll leave it up to the imagination on just why he isn't motivated by the citizens best interests. I understand the propaganda is heavy and so are the entrenched beliefs among nations and men...but we are here today in a forum working on, and discussing, a single project (and yes I have my own reservations on the project) but the fact remains that we are all here without borders or boundaries and everyone has their chance to say what the please. If the positions were reversed - and the project was hosted in Cuba - then I would seize the opportunity to "stick it to the man" (as we say here in the US) and I would proudly do as I mentioned in another post and type in my missing nationality and let it be a reminder for all to see that all the restrictions in the world would not stop me from volunteering my efforts to better society while representing my nationality in whatever avenue I create. |

David, with all due respect, your friend Rejean started this "off subject" on your team's post (I know he/she is your team member), and since this is a public forum, we are free to react to the posts.
![]() I would like to suggest to you Rejean that you use a little "nicer" handle (perhaps your real name even) instead of the disrespectful one you now use. If you want to continue to do nothing more than throw flames and make yourself look like an idiot then fine..........however, if you think you might actually want to enlighten someone, or maybe even help someone to gain an understanding of how you feel and why you feel that way, then sweeten up a little bit. You will certainly have a better chance of changing something that seems wrong when you go about it the "right" way. [I know.....define right]. Remember that old saying....."You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar" Peace Out Jeremy ![]() USA -- Grid Lock http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=GF5XNJBR9N1 |

Thanks for this input No-Mad
----------------------------------------![]() ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am appalled that this forum has deteriorated into nation bashing with such venom. Please can we all rise up above this and reach for the higher ground. For crying out loud this is a piece of software we are running to benefit all mankind that is why we are here in this forum so lets get some sense about what we are about. Just for once in this one aspect of our lives could we have some harmony? Call me naive, I may be, but something that is called "World Community" should engender a common working together for good. Not these diatribes of one nation against another - please ![]() Dave ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by David Autumns at Dec 22, 2004 2:11:18 AM] |

Harmony, I loved Harmony. Let me tell you about Harmony, she was 21 and...
Hello Mr. Autumns, I like the way your running things here, after checking out several other groups in the forums, this seemed to me to be one that I could feel at home with and just do what I like doing, letting the numbers flow. Checking in from St. Paul stonie out |
