Smallpox project compleated ~6 years ago. Where its practical results? Now its curable disease or not? What for we all crunching DNA's on our PC's. Maybe not cure for diseases, but new virus weapons (that's why results are secret) ?

Smallpox was eradicated.
The last case was in 1978. |

Or childrens of american president only? That destiny of all community grid projects? We will hear what project eradicated, and now no interest for all what stage it now. Therefore forum has no that theme discussion ;) |

I also worked on that at grid.org/UD ... it was for the Department of Defense when they were worried about smallpox being used as a biological weapon.

Smallpox was eradicated, but there are still labs that have live forms of the virus. Last I heard was there were 4 labs. I do not know if that has changed |

By the way, what about start project on herpes virus. I had that ~6 years, and every year its occupy larger part of my body. This year I had it on my eyes. And treat it about 7 weeks! Thanks to acyclovir in it different forms (Zoviraks etc).
