Re: Crunchers Inc........Boinc to the future

I like it - the colour reminds me of the days to come, when the sun shines from early in the morning until late at night; when it never gets dark and the birds are always sleepy. smile

Thanks. It looks like I'm averaging 4k a day - not a huge cruncher, but steady progress.

I've been diverting some resources to video processing these last few days. I have a collection of home movies over the past 20 years on VHS, 8mm, and digital-8mm tapes that I need to convert to DVD or some other standard digital format before the tapes demagnitize. Some of the color (or is that "colour"?) saturation is already fading on the oldest VHS stuff. Of course, as my kids already pointed out, by the time I get everything on DVD, it will be replaced by Blue-Ray or something else. I told them that I would leave it to them to make the next conversion. cool

I do something similar, converting from analogue Hi-8 to digital. I use a Canopus ADVC 110, the software that came with it is very simplistic but there's plenty of other, very good stuff to choose from and, most importantly, it is very good at what it does biggrin
