Hi Team - dropped in before getting some exercise (groan). Great to hear from Dave and best wishes from me for the forthcoming surgery, m8! Its amazing that the guy still makes the time to post here - so I'll try to do the same! I am back on BOINC after getting cross with memory usage and bugs in my system generally (MS Outlook has decided it wont send and receive for some reason). Lets hope the new version help me on. I also am running the BBC climate change on BOINC. It seems to be going nowhere and occasionally comes up with the message 'pre empted'. Does that mean I am wasting my time? ![]() It could possibly be due to the FoldingAids@HOME program running on behalf or World Community Grid It may has priority over yor spare cycles, so Climate Prediction is not getting any CPU time, consequently it may be getting pre-empted |

Matt, unless you have more than one processor, BOINC only runs one project at once. If you have more than one project running, BOINC will switch between them now and then. Since the climate change project has massive work units, BOINC can't switch in between work units, so it kicks it out part way through, to share the processor according to your preferences. So, everything's going according to plan. On the other hand, the BBC Climate project had a few problems, and the project is going to take longer than anticipated (they had to start again, pretty much). |

Thanks for the advice Didactylos I was hoping you would drop by with a solution to Matt's problem |

Good Afternoon all. It's been a long day. We had a thunderstorm come through this morning & it knocked out my cable & cable modem for over 9 hours. Other than that it's been okay today. Dave it's good to hear from you. We'll continue to pray for you. Congrats to largethunder. Keep on crunching.
