My smartphone (ARM Android) has very little storage (4GB, maybe 1.5GB usable). I am trying to run Rosetta@Home and WCG. Rosetta@Home wants 1GB. When I set Android to use up to 90% of storage, WCG queues up multiple tasks. Is there a way like the Windows BOINC client, to store at least 0.00 days of work?
Do I need to use a different BOINC client for this to work? |

Microbiome Immunity Project/Rosetta on Android? New to me.
----------------------------------------You need to experiment with the storage value in the Android BOINC App to get just enough to run on the desired cores. Count on about 100MB per running task and convert to a percent of allowed free space. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 19, 2018 6:27:38 PM] |

Can you explain what you mean by that suggestion? If I made 0.5 GB free, wouldn't that also make the other project on Rosetta@Home also abide by the new minimum free space requirement?

Seems there is a Rosetta Android version https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=12554 but not at WCG, and yes, as with the Windows version, there is no control over which project gets to use which portion of the allowed buffer space... it's a general resource. AFAIK, WCG only has a few apps that are VINA based and use the said 100mb or less when running. See a Zika using 64MB and an Ebola using 26MB.

I think you need to stop running wcg if you want to run R@h. Wcg will hog up all free space to download tasks based on how much disk space boinc is allowed to use. You can not configure Android boinc to download 0.0 days of work
So you have to pick one project or just live with the behavior of Android boinc. It is not ideal but that is just how it is now. I stopped running wcg until they fix this gdpr mess. I encourage everyone else to do the same to put pressure on getting this resolved... But I have a feeling my Android tasks don't add up to much in the big scheme.
