for 700usd, i could do a 2.4gig quad w/ 800fsb 2meg mem PCIe video 512meg and the fixing.
----------------------------------------then look at it and faint. As the concept of such a machine for such a small figure, is still unfathomable even though true. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've seen all sorts of stuff on e-Bay get bid up to way over it's retail value, which just plain doesn't make sense. I'm sure there are a lot of unethical sellers that have a relative or someone working for them inflating bids. You can usually get a better deal shopping for the best "Buy It Now" deals. As for selling on e-Bay, well, Craigslist is FREE!
![]() Congratulations on the great stats, everyone! ![]() |

We made the 30 CPU year mark Team Statistics Statistics Last Updated: 08/19/2007 23:59:59 (UTC) [10 hour(s) ago] Totals: Current Members 13 (#1,209) Retired Members 1 All-Time Members 14 Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 30:022:18:57:40 (#292) Points Generated (Rank) 14,207,550 (#177) Results Returned (Rank) 77,571 (#129) That's some impressive stats for such a small number of producers! WTG Everyone!! I'm still looking at those dual Xeons, but some idiot keeps bidding them up at the last minute. I don't get into the emotional, gotta have it frenzy. So let them overpay... eventually they'll run out of money and I'll get one at MY price! LOL ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I really need to know which project finishes fastest, because my old P3s are losing a lot, because of windozz blue death ![]() Looked at the results posted over the last few days for my best system, and don't see a lot of difference between different projects, they all seem to be close to the same. But putting the run times in a spreadsheet and averageing the results over the last 3 days, I get. Quickest - Discovering Dengue Drugs Middle - Human Proteome Folding 2 Slowest - FightAIDS@Home but it is important to note, that the average times were within 25% of each other, so average run times varied only from 3:50 to 4:35 for my best system. Results were over a fairly short period, so might not typical, and work units may vary as the projects progress. Not to mention that the slower systems may process the tasks differently, but it would take weeks of results to glean anything useful from slow systems, that only crank out 1 or 2 units a day, and the tasks are just too new. ![]() |
