 Yes Den , I will try to watch it also . In Living Memory is a Documentary taking a retrospective look at the construction of an ambitious war memorial and telling some of the moving and heroic stories behind the name  Ted , Bebo is to my believe a social networking website..... |

Evening all
Just popped in before going to a firework party up the road. Don't mind the rockets and such like but just hope there are not too many bangs for the poor cats and dogs around. Got everything ready to set the recorder for 1750 tomorrow just so I don't miss any of it. I'm all for the poppy day but I don't very much care for everything starting, like Christmas, earlier and earlier and to see the obligatory wearing of poppies on TV a couple of weeks before seems to lessen the importance rather than enhance it but perhaps that's just me. I lived in Germany for ten years and was always interested in the difference the date meant. The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month was the start of Karnival as a form of rejoicing that the war was over. I had friends who booked the register office for their wedding at precisely this time and date as a sign of good luck. |

Must be the one we had! ...............called him 'cooking fat' Thanks for the full version Den, interesting tale about the plaque. Spent 5hrs at Franklins Gardens (home of the 'Saints') nearly sold out of Poppies, the generosity of 'Joe public' (young and old,) and the warm reception towards this 'Old Sage' was wonderful; This was at a Rugby match, (a hooligans game played by Gentlemen,) I wonder if it had been football if the reception would have been the same?
