Re: This Day in History -

On April 22, 1970:

The first "Earth Day" was observed.

Nice remember too ! cool

Agree too, it was a great remember. The first earth day was a mark in the history and was one of the global advises about problems that we are watching today, and about what we and ours childerns need to do to save our planet. Much time since that day, and we continue destroying each more the enviroment.

In my opinion all days are Earth days because we are just a little pieces here, like passengers that will go out some day.

Re: This Day in History -

On April 21, 1960:

Brasília, Brazil's capital, is officially inaugurated. At 9:30 am the Three Powers of the Republic are simultaneously transferred from the old capital, Rio de Janeiro.

cober001,
thank you very much to remember it.

Was an amazing input from your side.

Traditionally, this day is an official holiday in Brazil, but due another reason: we dedicate this day to celebrate the born of our main hero in the first independence fights, during 17 century.

For sure we celebrate too the capital inauguration, but the part is great just in Brasilia, despite many Brazilians across the country comemorate it too.

Robinson Crusoe is published
Daniel Defoe's fictional work The Life and Strange Adventures of Robinson Crusoe is published. The book, about a shipwrecked sailor who spends 28 years on a deserted island, is based on the experiences of shipwreck victims and of Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish sailor who spent four years on a small island off the coast of South America in the early 1700s.
