Congrats to all participants, and keep crunching to make our world better and also to beat the 30-day record: we missed it only by 7,657,638 points. Shouldn't be a big deal... Since single redundancy will soon come up for fa@h, the points granted for that project will nearly double... So stay tuned for the next record... ![]() |

[very off topic]That logic you need to explain?!? For quorum 2 you get 2x the award for a single WU in the stats. For a zero redundancy you will still see the same number of jobs, except it is 2x as effective (not quite as there is about a 10% extra verification work for zero redundancy jobs).[/very off topic]

Never mind, it should still be possible to beat it tonight: the 30th older day that we will "lose" was only a 118,740,840-point day. If we reach 126,398,479 points tonight that will do it. Otherwise that should only be a matter of days.

My post didn't make much sense... ![]() But anyhow, it's good, that very soon all fa@h wu's are zero redundancy...!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm trying to speed up that process a little, I have changed my profiles to only crunch fa@h, until all redundant wu's are sent out... Cheers Totto |

Things are moving fast these last days in this area:
----------------------------------------On Monday August 25 the "normal" global daily record has been raised a little more to ----> 141,033,604 points. <---- The record for the last-seven-days indicator has been improved on Friday August 22 to 924,265,882 points, then again yesterday Tuesday August 26 to ----> 930,042,928 points <---- validated from August 20 to August 26, i.e. an average 132,863,275 points per day over this period. And the old record for the last-thirty-days indicator has finally been broken as expected, four times in five days as follows - 3,785,830,293 points on Friday August 22 - 3,795,970,675 points on Sunday August 24 - 3,836,044,731 points on Monday August 25 and yesterday Tuesday August 26, 2008 with ----> 3,855,992,742 points <---- validated from July 28 to August 26, i.e. an average 128,533,091 points per day over this period. And for this indicator the series is probably not finished since there have been a few low days four weeks ago. We'll see... Cheers all! Jean. |

Ah, another multi record party time ..... that 7 day sliding average is fitted well into an existing chart and who ever looks, will see it automatically printed in (corporate) blue:

Yesterday Thursday August 28, 2008 was a bright day for WCG. All "by points" totals have seen their record broken, with first a "best ever" for the total of points validated in a single day! See below:
--------------------------------------------> 147,392,119 points. <---- The new record for the last-seven-days indicator is now ----> 934,422,055 points <---- validated from August 22 to August 28, i.e. an average 133,488,865 points per day over this period. And the new record for the last-thirty-days indicator is ----> 3,864,521,747 points <---- validated from July 30 to August 28, i.e. an average 128,817,391 points per day over this period. Strictly speaking, with the current accelerated validation of FAAH WUs for the transition to no-redundancy operations I am not sure we should consider the new daily record as a "normal" global daily record, but since it is not due to particular operational problems, why not? That will make it a higher challenge for us to push it further... ![]() As usual, congratulations to all active crunchers, and keep up the pace!!! Jean. |

Monday September 8, 2008 has seen a tremendous burst of performance for WCG's daily results. Not only almost all records have been broken but two of them have been rised by much. Here it goes:
----------------------------------------The new record for the total of points validated in a single day is ----> 156,226,220 points, <---- 8,834,101 more than the previous one on August 28! The new record for runtime validated in a single day of the post-UD era is ----> 226 years and 21 days <---- 12 years and 288 days more than the previous one on August 28! The new record for the last-seven-days indicator is ----> 968,664,561 points <---- validated from September 2 to September 8, i.e. an average 138,380,652 points per day over this period. And the new record for the last-thirty-days indicator is ----> 3,976,488,244 points <---- validated from August 10 to September 8, i.e. an average 132,549,608 points per day over this period. There has been no particular operation on the technical side of WCG which would have helped this achievement, therefore all of us can be really proud of these high figures. Congratulations to all active crunchers, and keep up the pace!!! Jean. |

One billion WCG points in a week!
----------------------------------------Yesterday Tuesday October 9, 2008, WCG crunchers have reached the amazing total of -----> 1,005,558,988 WCG points <----- over seven consecutive days, breaking the magic one-billion frontier for our 7-day indicator, thanks to the sustained effort of all members and teams with help of a few recent teams which are returning very high daily totals. The previous record (already very close) had been established on Monday September 29 with 998,095,761 points. This is not a real surprise since our 30-day indicator had already passed the 4-billion mark on Tuesday September 11, 2008 with 4,000,165,685 points, and this 30-day record has been improved 18 times since than date with a current best at -----> 4,204,811,656 points <----- reached on Tuesday October 7, 2008. As usual, Congratulations to all active crunchers, and keep up the pace!!! Jean. |

Yesterday Tuesday October 21, 2008 World Community Grid has established a new "best ever" for the total of WCG points validated in a single day, while its 7-day and 30-day indicators have been improved again as it happens quite regularly since several weeks.
----------------------------------------The new record for the total of points validated in a single day is ----> 156,571,332 points. <---- The previous one was 156,226,220 dated September 8, 2008. This new record was established with runtime almost five years lower than for the previous one, which means an increase of the global computing power of the grid. The new record for the last-seven-days indicator is ----> 1,021,072,869 points <---- validated from October 15 to October 21, i.e. an average 145,867,552 points per day over this period. And the new record for the last-thirty-days indicator is ----> 4,311,617,729 points <---- validated from September 22 to October 21, i.e. an average 143,720,590 points per day over this period. This 30-day indicator has been improved 18 times during this 30-day period. Once more, Congratulations to all active crunchers, and keep up the pace!!! Jean. |
