Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
The Maine trek
BladeD moved back home to SNURK. Thank you for trying out Base Camping. We liked having your along.
How did you like it? How did you like the interaction with the host team? crying
yodap@BC who needed his rig still has it in Maine.
Urden, I hope you’ll return to Kraland ASAP and certainly before your four challenges are over.

Other news
nap is conducting his own personal one-man Base Camp trek to The Edwardians, and he already rocked their graphs.
He has designed a handsome, dignified badge just for himself.
Perhaps he will show it to us, or give me his permission to show it.
I was tempted by that badge to go along, but no, no, this is nap’s trek.
Well done, old friend, and finally you have a badge higher than 60 pixel!
cswchan, Base Camper from Mississauga, Canada, visited the Forums but not this thread sad
even as I shouted loudly – or perhaps because of that.
I should take dog training lessons to learn restraint! blushing

General chat
Today is a holiday in Denmark. Great Prayer Day. This is an artificial holiday. Centuries ago each community had its own prayer day which was very confusing. Nothing was coordinated. Being a rational people the Danes fused all of these prayer days into one single Great Prayer Day. They have kept it in Norway – which was Danish at the time – but done away with it in Iceland after they divorced Denmark. So, everybody has the day off, and how better to use it than go shopping in Germany where all the stores are open. Hook up your trailer, get on a ferry at a superdiscounted fare of just 99 DKK/€13/$16 and haul home all the beer, wine, booze, soda, candy, almonds and what have you at low German prices.

Eggs
Oh, yesterday I asked the dietist how it is with eggs and cholesterol these days - it varies a lot.
’Fine, she said, ’you can eat eggs’ biggrin
- fried eggyfied Speurneus - funny side up wink

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

here comes the sun
- two missing Base Campers in one day biggrin
sunfolk is lurking, but I'll not scare HIM by being loud tongue
EDIT: sunfolk ran off sad
Now I understand this special traffic:
It's because we all got notifications from WCG about the new projects, so people want to come and see what's up.

How did you like it?

Since I don't have to fly and I'm a sucker for badges, I can do this! biggrin

Great!
We'll make sure you can have ground transportation
- by vehicles with licence plates with uneven numbers
at all times, BladeD biggrin

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

You're right.
Base Camp has been on the Silverton-Durango
- is that too high up for you?
and the Copper Canyon in Mexico.
Personally I have been on the Amtrak 'Empire Builder' Chicago-Minot and Minot-Portland OR and back Emeryville, CA-Chicago on a more southern route.
I think I would prefer tourist trains or Greyhound busses could I choose.
Even the NY-DC stretch was exciting for me, and the drivers really know how to drive
because you can drive and then you can drive cool
biggrin Such a pleasure.
Why do you like train rides?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I can put you on a train, a sleeper, if you wish, BladeD, but mind you:
It takes a while to reach Minnesota, and you gotta listen to this for probably two nights raised eyebrow

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
Maine trek
yodap@BC who needed his rig urgently still had it in Maine.
And still does.
He mumbled something about a moose badge and gave me an idea.
Urden, you have no idea how much Saphir12 misses you!

Minnesota trek
By May 1 I’ll go to Minnesota Crunchers
If any Base Camper wants to join me, it would be nice. If something like half-treks existed, it would be such one.
Half-trek, half-track ..
There will be a badge. It’s based on the idea yodap gave me
– they do have moose in Maine but in Minnesota, too, you know tongue

Coincidence. Just what I believe in, BladeD biggrin
idea How about paying him a visit now?
And take the opportunity to crunch for Bearcat while you're there?

Hey, you have been around, haven't you? cool
