Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

shock TLD, how do you survive there?
The 'no-see-um' is a fascinating name; I had forgotten it.
Turns out we have 40 subspecies of those in Denmark;
I remember meeting representatives from all 40 of them crying one miserable summer
- but none of them were as hostile as the one Rhode Island black fly that confronted me.
I think we need not to talk too much about these insects
- yes, I know, I began myself

Welcome davwhite5xq7
We hope you have brought your insect net for this trek biggrin

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good morning.
LM - I did tell Dave about the impromptu trek, left it up to him to join. I've retreated to SC since we're in a challenge otherwise you know I would've stayed full term.

You don't see a lot of them unless you are by water or in the forest especially the rain forest where it is always very moist. Because of the climate in western Washington we have these insects but not in huge populations.

A friend shared an image that I think is great, how not to show it at Base Camp?

That’s more or less like in Denmark, TLD. The worst time here is early summer at twilight time when the dew forms and you want to sit outside and enjoy your meal – especially if you choose to locate yourself near a pond and/or growths of bushes.
Your temperate rainforests would be the perfect breeding ground for insects of all kinds shock
All that dampness.

It’s a wonderful picture, stefada.
That’s exactly what that beautiful modern cat would say to the ancient Egyptian one. Exactly.
Thank you for sharing.

Exactement.
Merci pour le partage.

Good Morning Base Campers!

Minnesota trek
acpartsman went home to SeriousCrunchers to pull for sujo1’s numerous treks,
and at the same time davwhite5xq7 arrived. Thank you for coming, dave rose
and thank you for having been here, acpartsman rose
As to when the trek is over? I don't know.
For me it will not be over until I hear how Bearcat is doing.
If you need to go doing other business, it's fine.
I have ordered the moose badge

for
BladeD
Yodap@BC
TLD
acpartsman
davwhite5xq7
little mermaid

and the honorary one for Bearcat.
I hope he’s all right, but evidently he has not wanted/been able to check in with Minnesota Crunchers so far.
If three more Base Campers – novice or experienced – join, I can get a quantity discount on the badges whistling

General chit-chat
Not much.
Yesterday Upstairs Yvonne and I celebrated our robust friendship
which survived my snapping with a dinner at our Daytona Beach
and this morning I had the chairman of our condo association for coffee which I had planned for October rolling eyes
- much input for my capacity smile but one step forward.
- that spotted cat is so beautiful, stefada ....

I see the moderation of ErikaT, and I'm sorry! I just wanted to share something that I found funny.

I did not want to be vulgar at all, just, that was the translation. No more no less.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

It WAS funny, stefada, really
It's just that the within limits in Europe
- where just about anything goes -
are off limits in the USA at times for good and for bad.
I can think of American books - for instance 'The Living and the Dead' - that would have the page count
reduced drastically if it had been through the Forum washer.
I can think of American films with hardly any dialogue had they been cleaned up to Forum standards.
I'll try to make the speech of that lovely little spotted cat cleaner:
'I defaecate in a box ....'
I believe even astronauts have these bodily functions ...

rose
Je peux penser à des livres - par exemple 'The Living and the Dead'

Good Morning Base Campers!
