Hello Base Campers:
Since round 1 ended SeriousCrunchers has had stronger daily returns than SNURK and Friends. However, neither team has a stronger showing than the 10th team from round 1. We must get stronger. Stronger than 20,000 hours/day for each team. 900 cores strong. You can see on the chart below that SNURK and Friends strength is building these past few days. That is not good enough. We need 600 more cores in this race. Perhaps some of you are saving your strength for the muster.

We need all hands on deck at 00:00 on October 8. Bring your friends. Bring your friends' friends. Maybe you know crunchers from any of the 62 teams that didn't make it to round 2 that still want to stay in the competition. Maybe some crunchers from teams that weren't in the completion at all who are hungry for a race. A race for the coveted Thor's Hammer, and even better - an exclusive Base Camper Loki Trek badge, designed especially for this trek. I'll keep flying in Hass avocados from La Habra and anything else we need at base camp to keep all the trekkers happy.

Wow ! Tu parles très bien Français, pour le peu de pratique que tu as ! Il y aurait quelques tournures à améliorer bien sûr, mais n'importe quel francophone aura compris. Je suis tellement impressionné, que je n'ose pas te proposer une 'correction', que c'est des détails. Genre, "practiser" n’existe pas, c'est "pratiquer". Mais ça se comprend très bien, les mots sont très proches avec le practice de l'Anglais.

J'attends le dernier moment, en crunchant pour la Team Kraland, que pour une petite équipe comme la notre, être 26ème, c'est en ayant motivé tout le monde autant que j'ai pu. Et on est déjà très fier de ce résultat. Mais lundi à minuit, je serais dans l'équipe SNURK and Friends, comme annoncé. C'est pas mes 2 PCs qui feront la différence, mais ça sera toujours ça de plus.

Ceux qui sont attentifs auront remarqué que je m'étais déjà inscrit lundi dernier, n'ayant pas fait attention qu'il y avait une semaine de pause. Je suis ensuite retourné dans mon équipe, que je suis Co-captain, mais je serais présent. Première fois que je vais faire un trek d'une semaine. Comme disait un sage : La parole, c'est la seule chose qu'on possède vraiment.

I'm waiting for the last moment, crunching for Team Kraland, that for a small team like ours, to be 26th, it is by having motivated everybody as much as I could. And we are already very proud of this result. But Monday at midnight, I would be in the team SNURK and Friends, as announced. It's not my 2 PCs that will make the difference, but it will always be more.

Those who are attentive will have noticed that I had already registered last Monday, not paying attention that there was a week break. I then returned to my team, that I am Co-captain, but I would be present. First time I'm going on a week-long trek. As a wise man said: Speech is the only thing we really have.

You and I are thinking alike on this OldChap. 35 years, 107 days is where the 5th place team finished round 1. That would take 1800 cores. Can we do it? I am assuming the other teams are rallying their members to get more crunchers and more cores joining in. We are counting on crunchers like stefada who may only have 2 PCs, because 2 PCs may make a difference. I have just 2 PCs, an old laptop, and a pile of old phones. The International Team, whom I tried to help boost in the last few days of round 1, missed finishing by only 15 cpu days. If I had turned on some old smartphones just 1 day sooner, it would have been enough to make a difference.

I will start the round with SeriousCrunchers, because I think they will need it more than SNURK and Friends, but I will watch the scoreboard and see what happens on the first day and adjust. If I can get only 1 team across the finish line it will be SNURK and Friends, but I hope all will try to get both teams across.

Those west of the Prime Meridian need to remember that 00:00 UTC is on Sunday. I live on the west coast of USA where that is around 4pm Sunday. Waiting until Monday will result in a late start and lost cycles.

Keep those cpus revved up trekkers and lets hit the ground with our wheels spinning.
