Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

No, no, I'm still here.
Oddly and unusually I have been on the phone all evening,
and I have a book I need to finish for my reading club come Monday.
And do you know what?
It's so good that book that it can only be read very slowly ...
Sometimes - not often - but sometimes this happens hugs

Well, you may not need educational programs, BladeD.
I do.
It reminds me of an American friend who asked what I watched on TV,
and I answered '60 minutes' and the like.
His eyes widened more and more and he asked:
'And what do you watch for entertainment?'
Duh!

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
I leafed through the MEACC memberlist and determined that
NAP2614 rose
has been here and is gone again.
This time, nap, you earned your badge both by design and by work.
Thank you.
It's a bit difficult to see when a member rejoins.
We had a trek in 2011, and nap took part
- and so did I
so we sit somewhere inbetween everybody.
Oh, looking at that memberlist gives me a sudden onset of nostalgia
- each name rings its own bell

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Whether it's cold or not, Louloup needs to work hard. And I always wanted to try that, so let's enjoy the snow!

When we come back, he will have his bowl of croquettes with pschitt-pschitt salmon oil on it (he has a hair even more beautiful with that). I did not see Puppy, but his bowl is served, reflex. The treat is a rib bone.

For humans, mulled wine (around 16H in France) . With a simple Merlot, but very good cinnamon.
Some cookies to accompany. And for those who do not like alcohol, there will be tea. I do not know his name. A Russian specialty, with blue flowers in it. Strong enough, but with a very subtle aftertaste. With brown sugar it is a delight.

And once warmed up, and we took the energy, we crunch!

peace

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Wonderful picture, stefada.
It must be so much easier doing this with that flimsy little skicart
than being on one of the heavy sledges with a lot of dogs
who have to establish their pecking order incessantly.

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
The Base Camp crew around the Finnish campfire is stable and reliable.
Everybody works hard with his own tools.
Everybody is welcome to stay until we leave for outer space on January 15.
Everybody has earned our birch badge

- also TLD whom we made room for when he arrived a couple of days ago with his fishing gear.
He decided to try out ice fishing
Welcome, Ted rose
We had two words from our current captain
- the further you go north and the more you’re a man, the less you talk …
He said: ”wow nice” and smiled smile
You shhh are invited to join the cold fun as well cool

Chit-chat
Went to see ’Shoplifters’ yesterday.
Lovely movie with one woman claiming you need to give birth to a child to be a mother,
and the other one having demonstrated you can be a mother anyway.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Little Mermaid,

To be musher is an art, I would not dare to try even if I love dogs. Making them work together, while managing the Pack and its hierarchy, is not given to everyone.

By cons, what I would like to test this kind of scooter for the snow with Louloup. Especially that he knows right, left, advance, stop, go (that's to tell him to let go as fast he want). With the addition that it is quite light, so if there is an obstacle, I detach, put the machine on my shoulder, we cross it, and it's gone!

The problem is that there is almost no more snow where I live (the last time we could go sledding, it should be about ten years ago).

So I'm interested in tricycle sledding, which allows you to do the same thing, but without the snow. I know a "greenway" (a road where motor vehicles are prohibited, it is reserved for walkers/cycles/etc) which is almost flat, and that makes us about 25km of round trip, there would be enough to feast.

In photo, one of the models that I like a lot. Light, very stable, excellent braking system (very important with Louloup). I find it much more suitable than the scooter on the next picture, even if it's the same trip in a way.

The problem is that a tricycle like that, even in second hand, it takes at least 5'000 €! So I try to find friends who can make me one, but the aluminum (which is necessary to stay light) it is expensive, and in addition it is necessary to know to work it. But if I can get one, I think I will have to create a tire part in my budget!

praying

Trek

A slight decrease in recent days, but we stay in an average of 20'000 hours per day. About 2.2 years of calculation each day!

Members of the My Children Against Cancer team are invited to take the opportunity to make themselves known and talk about their team, either here or directly on your recruitment topic.

Let us motivate, that we can always do more, and in the face of sick children, we will never do enough! A post, a sharing is nothing. Nothing ? The possibility that one more person joins the team, to see better, that there is a new cruncher who participates in the WCG. As Saphir12 says, the Captain of the Kraland team:
Small streams make big rivers, small computers make mega-calculators for research.

good luck

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I wish you luck aquiring this mock-up of a dog sledge.
Since we shall not have all that much snow any more
- except for exceptional loads in Bavaria and Austria shock that threatens to ruin my hairdresser's ski vacation plans
so Louloup hardly ever will pull in snow, you may be able to get away with an ordinary bicycle ride –
much cheaper, and I’m sure Louloup will be one very happy dog either way

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
I cannot see we have any changes in our crew
- nobody left, and nobody came in response to stefada’s and my invitation.
New permanent members of MEACC would be welcome
– and, indeed, the team has managed to grow some on its own since Base Camp’s first trek there.
Your badge, Base Campers, to be dealt ASAP after January 14th

- don't forget it, BladeD biggrin
