I know what you mean - I miss having fires. When I lived in Montana we used to have huge fires every night in our fire pit. This isn't so possible in Boston. I also miss the manual labour of chopping firewood and splitting logs. It's nice to get outside of one's head for a while and just do simple work. Sadly, I'm now in finals period so that means 10-12 hours a day of reading and writing.
----------------------------------------PS: Did you know that you can fit a third of a cord of fire wood in the trunk of an A4? Nothing makes those muddy hill climbs like a low-slung, overboosted A4 with snowtires. FYI...I have notes out to a couple of team captains regarding a one-on-one team challenge with them. Once I hear back from them, we'll be setting those up (I hope). I'm looking for a way to allow us to do this with more teams that aren't easily comparable to us - some sort of "handicapping" method. If we're averaging 200K points and the other team is averaging 150K points daily, you'd have to look at the actual numbers in the challenge detail at any time and either multiply the other team's score by 1.33333 or take 75 percent of ours (but not both) to see who is actually "winning". With this, we could challenge just about any team. We'd base the "handicap" for each team on the average scores for the past say 60 days, presuming no significant changes during that time. Comments?
