I got a new laptop, and want to add it to my desktop for crunching. I see a lot of folks with multiple devices - how do I add my laptop? |

Thanks for the help, Ski. I got it up and running after a bit of 'futzing'. Windows 8 needs a slightly different one.
It's crunching away on projects right now. |

As I had not installed the WCG agent on a windows 8 system, I was unaware of and am sorry for not giving you this link before - https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,33527 Would you add some thing here about what you had to do to get the BOINC version 7.0.28 or higher downloaded from the Berkeley site and running under windows 8, if it was more than what is covered by the link above? thanks and Semper Fi - ski1939 |

Ski, I downloaded Boinc version 7.0.64 (64 bit), and only encountered one quirk setting it up.
WCG was not listed as a Project Manager (I forget the actual term that was used, and I can't recreate it at this point), but that was easy to work around. There were three options presented, and I substituted www.worldcommunitygrid.org. From there it presented the WCG available projects. Pretty easy and intuitive. Windows 8 is 'different'. It's okay once you get adjusted to it, but it is different. The laptop is a screamer. It'll increase my crunching productivity substantially. Thanks for your help, and Semper Fi. Terry |
