From the "Lighter Side of Life" Dept...

After perusing the current WCG challenges, this one struck me funny.

Looks like somebody forgot to tell Sweden.

Good morning everyone, and...

A VERY HAPPY IST BIRTHDAY TO THE EDWARDIANS AT WCG

In one year we have achieved.....

Team Position 75th out of 19183 teams.

Now I realise that Owlie is mainly to blame, but it takes a team effort, to achieve so much, and I want to record my thanks to all of you! (including those who have moved on) I am proud to know the lot of you! biggrin

Heres to the second year! wink

Re: Weekend half over!

Evening all and well done everyone.
My own birthday is not until tomorrow as it took me a short time to find a new home after my Grid Org team disappeared on the close down.

Still, it's been a fun year and, hopefully, the first of many.

Re: Weekend half over!

Hi all,

hope you all had a good weekend cool hugs

Hmmm, the last time I was in Southampton was in the early 60's. Think I'd recognize it now?

Traveller, how's your new camera suiting you? I'm really surprised you didn't opt for a DSLR with your propensity for pic taking.

THere are so many changes it is a bit frightening trying to keep up. Did catch a glimpse of the world's largest cruise liner in dock but it was a bit hard to miss! biggrin

I spent ages thinking about what camera to get. It was a real struggle to decide to go for something I could stick in my pocket, or a DSLR. I thought I would go for the compact as I could always upgrade later in a year or two. What I got was one of these, a Powershot G9 The only real drawback is the lack of a wide wide-angle. However, I could fit a converter lens to it, but if you have seen the size of one of them (in the picture down the bottom) then it ceases to be portable. I don't think there was a perfect camera, at the end of the day the decision was a slight compromise, but a good one biggrin

And you DID take pics, right?
An amazing ship, that one. All 15 decks of her.

A good choice, for sure. With the features the G9 has, it's about as close to a DSLR as you can get. A very long list of attributes on that model, including a 3" LCD (something these old eyes would appreciate).
