My personal congrat's ol'guy! applause wink applause

My big push now is getting the leagues going for our sister team WCG_SPORTS. But I always seem to come up with the time to salue an old soldier.

<salute>

Re: Another Cruncher

Thank you, ma'am! peace
Just added another one Celeron 2.6GHz. So now my little fleet has 4 Celerons 2.4 and 2.6 at work, but none of them can match my home PC with Athlon 64 3200+ s.754 (FSB overclocked for some 15% from 200 to 230MHz, with 2GB DDR400 2-3-2-5 RAM running @ 210MHz). Single cores only.
My girlfriend now has laptop, one of the cheapest on the market - HP Compaq with Celeron M530, but according to Super-Pi test it's CPU has more power than my good old Athlon, so now I’m dreaming about C2D, but not a chance in at least 4-6 months as by now we are spending all money in preparations for wedding, it’s just in 2 weeks. wink

Hello!

I just joined the group, hope I can contribute to the challenges! :)

I was looking for a group to join, and found familiar names from Grid.org. Spent like 5-6 there before they pulled the plug. crying Hope they don't do it here! crying

After grid.org closed and the team was safely here, the first order of business was to evaluate other existing projects for worthiness. This was because the move had to be so fast from grid.org to here, there was no time to directly evaluate WCG before the transition.

It was found that the projects here fitted the premise of this team based on the concepts and charter of grid.org, so no addition move was needed. But in the aftermath, the evaluation was effective in plotting viable exit paths should there be a replay of the demise grid.org suffered.

Many would say "once bitten, twice shy", but in my case its "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." As I hate being caught with my pants down.

Congtrats on the wedding!

Single core, dual core, they all crunch and that's what counts.
I wish I could make all my P4 1.7 Ghz machines into Q6800's, but that isn't happening...LOL
So we all crunch with what we have. You never know which unit it will be that breaks a code and facilitates a new treatment or cure.
It could be someones old P2 or one of those new Quad Xeons, you just never can tell.
ALL contributions to the cause help!

Lost Cruncher

One of my celeron's took a dump over the weekend. I don't know when or if it will ever be back, luckily it didn't do that much production per day.

Hmmm, CPU or board?
I have a Celeron 3Ghz sitting here that I replaced with a dual core D925...but the CPU was fully functional...I figured for the $59 it cost for the 'real' CPU it was worth the upgrade (and the board supported the D925 but not Core 2 duo)!
