biggrin Another Cruncher

I just got the Dual Xeon Dual core up. We will see how well it performs. Had to go toward the cheaper side of the spectrum, so it is only Dual 1.86 GHz, but that does look like four processors and with 4 GB of RAM, it doesn't hurt.

I have a dual core laptop that is 1.8Ghz, with 2GB it does pretty well.
I also have a dual CPU Xeon 2.4Ghz, 2 CPUs, 1 core each.
It is an IBM server/workstation class machine (XP Pro) with 2GB ECC Ram, that is some expensive stuff.
I do not believe that board supports the dual core processors.
It should be interesting to see how the Dual Core Dual Socket Xeon does.

Once it gives me a few days results I will compare it to the Dual Xeon Quad that I have running. Granted that one also has faster processors, but we will see. My other Dual Quads are in a wait and see for loading right now. One wont be added as it is going to be a webserver running Red Hat Enterprise 5 and the other is a backup box for that system. Right now it has a play operating system of Windows 2008 just for laughs and giggles. The agent does run on Windows 2008 but we just turn that box on occassionaly when we need to test some things. devilish

Re: Another Cruncher

It's amazing how a power outage (even a few hours) makes one days results look REALLY bad.
But 40+ machines at 5 hours each is a lot of total hours.

Will someone whack mother nature for me? LOL

When I had that malware attack, I had days so poor that my wording was not so kind.
