Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

I have been 100% on this project since I got my blue badges for DDDT2 and CEP2 with the exception of adding more time for faah to get over 4 years. I am working to get 4 years compute time for HCC for which I have less than 130 days compute time to get to 3 years.

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

With 41.6 GFL, guess somewhere near 10-12 cores at 24/7, you'd not have problem to get to your 4 year target. Somewhere 45-50 days I'd reckon to add 500 more days.

bon chance

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

I'm still hoping to get to Sapphire by devoting two dual core machines with hyperthreading to HCC 24/7. I'm at 315 days now, so should make it to Emerald in less than a week. Then getting that second year in will be a race with the weather -- too hot to crunch so hard? or many thunderstorms that make me shut down?

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

332,689 results returned yesterday as of 6/6/11 00:05:38 (UTC) What is the calculation to work out how many days are left? I tried this:

Total number of tasks 75,634,416 - % complete 79.08% divide by tasks completed yesterday 332689 & I get 47.56 days.

If calculation my is correct we will be finished HCC (not counting repair & resends) round July the 21st 11.

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

Speedy51, according to SekeRob's fantastic charts (and he's usually "on the ball"), there's currently 123 days left - so, hopefully (as I'm in the running to get myself an Emerald badge for this project), it'll run a tad longer than your initial estimate...

Of course, as per usual, things can (and probably will) change - what with the imminant arrival of a fresh wave of HFCC targets and (hopefully), at least 1 (possibly more) new project(s) in the not too distant future - which, of course, should bring at least a few waves of Beta testing. Then, of course, there's always the DDDT2 rainfall...

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

Thanks gb009761. My calculation was way off. I need another 205 days to get to my goal of Emerald. I have roughly 2.925 days of work pending. On 6/5/11 I returned 4:11:05:13 days of work for HCC. Good luck on your goals everyone.

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

Speedy51, how did you figure there was around 75 million WUs?

I personally agree that there is at around 120 days left at our current pace (which will most likely change).

Here is how I did the math.

(# of WU done)/(# of total WU) = (percent done)/100%

or

(# of total WU) = (# of WU done) *100/(percent done) = (# of WU left) + # of WU done

or

(# of WU left) = (100/(percent done) - 1)*(# of WU done) = (# of days left)*(# of WU per day)

so

(# of days left) = (100/(percent done) - 1)*(# of WU done) / (# of WU per day)

(# of days left) = (100/79.08 - 1) * 162,559,904 / 340,617 = 126.25 days

of course I expect the # of WU per day to change

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

anhhai. I got the # 75 from this post by rilian on page 3 4th from the top
crunched 46.4% - 75,634,416 tasks of 84000000 WU (with quorum 2 tasks per WU), and remaining 92365584 tasks

Yesterday's speed is 237709 tasks per day, with this speed project will end in 388 days
I'm still unsure how the answer was reached though

Re: Help Conquer Cancer Crunching Chart

At any rate it appears the project will finish relatively soon. Will there be a second part to this project?

Yes there was an update that informed us about a phase 2.
