THE PURCHASE FROM H3LL
----------------------------------------@Dave It’s not too late to cancel your order! I finally got the PC this morning. Unpacked it, plugged it in, booted it up and immediately got a message saying it was not a genuine copy of Windows Vista.  I tried to register it by phone and got the same result. I got a live person at MS who said it was a pirated version. I called Tiger Direct who could do nothing but give me IBuyPower’s customer service number. I called them ... I CALLED THEM 6 <expletive deleted>TIMES. You get a live person who puts you on hold and exactly one minute later you get a message, “There’s no one to answer your call. Try again later.” On the 6th attempt, I got into the call queue and after a one hour and ten minute wait got some dweeb in customer service. After I explained the problem, he said, “That happens sometimes. Send it back to Tiger Direct and order another one FROM OUR WEBSITE. Un<expletive deleted> believable someone in customer service would say that to a customer!!! I taught him some “soldier language” before I hung up on him. I was about to pull it out of the rack when I noticed they had included an emergency recovery disk. So, on a long shot, I reimaged the machine. It worked!! It is now running WCG. It benchmarked at 2258/6883. @Jonathan IBuyPower S*CKS!!! I would not buy from them again if the price was FREE!! On the happy side of the day ... I made a pile o’ money today. Not often you can buy a block of stock for $1.93/share and sell it the same day for $10.92. Thank you UAL and the false rumor from the Florida Sun-Sentinel. Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear that the customer service from both outfits is "severely lacking". Hope you blistered his ear. I've had good luck with them so far, but their customer service is a joke. I knew that going in, but I thought that at least Tiger Direct would be good about it. |
