Re: The green green grass

Evening all

A day at Lord's refreshes the parts other things cannot reach. Friends and a couple of beers helps.

Re: The green green grass

Some Hope of funshine to day
Its a grey day
But its dry so the garden will get a coat of looking at smile
************************

Got a missile from the council through the door yesterday
telling us that the Bins we have (Colour Coded) Gray bin for non recyclable stuff
remains the same
The green bin For compost-able garden rubbish remains the same Except that we are to put Food waste in with it sad
We have An approx 25 litre black box with a red lid that took defined plastics
This now changed to a Cardboard and Paper Box sad
The other two 25 litre boxes both green but with yellow lids we are instructed to put tins glass foil all together ???? before this new edict came out we sorted everything prior to putting in the box
I can see tears before teatime smile

Re: The green green grass

You will soon need an extra large bin to put the bins in! (How much garden do they think we have?)

Re: The green green grass

what worries me is the cost of the adjudicators Audi sport car drivers who I expect live in a community apartment that has corporate collection ??? who must have to follow each dust cart wink to report on us defaulters............

*********************

PS I did have a cubby hole that took our old fashioned dustbin
hidden till collection day now we have two Wheelie bins and three Waste collection boxes despoiling the front of our houses

Re: The green green grass

Evening all

Still having to water the containers and not having to mow the grass. Showers keep threatening but come to nothing.

Just two bins here, a brown one for garden and kitchen rubbish and the normal black for the rest non recycling stuff. This, now, is never more than about a quarter full once the paper and other recycling stuff goes in special plastic bags which they can easily throw into the truck.

Yes, Den, I am now fortunate that it takes me about 40 minutes to get to Lord's but it makes up for the years I lived in Bebington, paid my sub and got down three times a year if I was lucky.

I've also always watched FI but now follow it as habit rather than excitement. When I could see American Speedway on TV it often looked more exciting with wheel to wheel racing and overtaking as a norm rather than an exception. Then, when you get the Massa incident, it's hard not to be a tad cynical. What I've seen of motorbike racing on TV looks far more like real racing.

It's a long time since I've seen any live racing. It has to go back to Goodwood when you got a full day's entertainment with rookies, vintage as well as the main race.

I shall watch the start and then take a look every half hour or so until the end, on Sunday. Overtaking, except at the start or on the pit stop is a rarity here.

Final Village garden clean up tomorrow before the UK judges come on Tuesday. The plus side is that it stirred the Council to make sure its services were working properly and couldn't be held to account if the judges made adverse comments.

Have a good weekend you great lot of crunchers.
