Evening all

Chilly and likely to remain so for some days. Pity we haven't got big log fires to sit around. I'll just put some thicker socks on.

Re: Re:To crunch or not to crunch

Hi Merle,

I got myself converted from the normal TV to Freesat just before Christmas, due to the same messages. I bought a good FreeSat box off Amazon cheaply then got a man round to fit a satellite dish. It's not sky, so no extra monthly subscription or anything like than, just the one-off cost of getting it done. Freesat was better for me than freeview, due to (currently) a weak freeview signal that wouldn't be boosted until the day of the switch over.

I'm very happy with Freesat and the the picture is very good. I've gone from 4 to over 300 TV channels! cool

Still not much on I want to watch though. biggrin devilish

Digital TV

Good morning 28f bright and sunny no wind

The great tv debate. The choice of 300 channels sounds great
but so many are old recycled Beeb shows
If you like Morse , Frost ,Lewis, Marple Or Midsummer there are showings somewhere nearly every day QI is also on at least one channel if the times clash you have a plus one hour option
Apart from that the pictures are good and it cost nothing apart from wasting your wink time

Re: Digital TV

Good morning, no time for watching the TV, am about to venture out into the wastelands of the distant north in search of food! Merling day is here again! (Besides, Morrison needs my pension to keep himself in luxury)

Re: Digital TV

Evening all

Good on you Ted. What practical tasks do you make for yourself to spend the evenings on without the box in the corner.

Apart from when there is motor racing on - cricket being no longer free - I watch the 6pm news and then, after dinner, mostly it's a rented DVD.

I saw recently on Love that I have had just over 600 rentals to date so it's a bit like when I was a kid and went to the local flea pit twice a week to see whatever was showing.

I miss the occasional visit to the big screen but ours closed down a few years ago now and I have no wish to fight my way into town and pay London prices.
