Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

When I saw what is going on here some days ago I was curious how this will work.
There were 3 choices. 1. ignore 2. sit down and watch 3. participate
I took number 3 and I dont regret
I put my 30 cores over to tmedve and with help from others we will archive that diamond.

A impressive experience

Sorry but english is not my favorite language. I guess my best friend here is http://dict.leo.org

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

I just saw Node 12 come on line. Thank you. I will post an update after the next run, What is the best information to post that is the easiest for you to work with? Or, is what I have been doing OK?

Simjoe, thank you for your participation in this. I really got a new feel for this community and view it a bit differently than I did before, not that it was bad, but just different.

Because of your help, I have a real chance to get my only diamond and I expect to have it sometime tomorrow with all the help from everyone. Thank you.

Your English is very good and I am glad that you take the effort to use it. It is certainly better than my poor attempts at French, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian, Japanese or any of the other languages that I have made attempts at.

My hat off to all the rest of the world for being multilingual and to immigrants to the USA who work very hard at learning English on top of their own mother-tongue.

Tom, thank you

Information needed here is always the same

proges like: FightAIDS@Home 7,446,405 29,392 4:254:21:42:15
IP =
PVal =
PVer =

I shut down my VM's this night because I convinced that we archive the goal 5 years but there is no need to reach 5 years + x month

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

with the IP figure split it into what YOU have and what the total is.

If everybody kept going then I expect the midnight update to be 10 days over target plus everything in pv (13 days) plus everything in progress on your machines. which should be 20 days if you followed the instructions to maximise cache

That extra amount will have been done on your account when others might need it.

do you see why I started dumping wu's now? 2 of mine should have finished in the last hour but I will run them until the third is empty in maybe 2 hours

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

ok confusion rains!

Here's what I'm doing...

Node14 - no new tasks, clearing down the cache (9 tasks)
Node15 - No new tasks, suspended all but those currently running

After the midnight update, or when an update from tmedve, I'll do one of two things:

1. restart the tasks and let them crunch as required until the target is reached
2. dump the remaining tasks

Last post tonight.

Night all...

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

@tmedve
The FAAH badge next to your posts is shining now ;) I also got an update on my machine saying congrats on the 5 year badge!

Some panic at the end but it worked out with a few days to spare! Congrats man :)

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

Great. The badge on the left of my post came up faster than the data from the update. Nice catch. Everyone can disconnect me, dump their cache that was set up for me, abort jobs for other people, or whatever is needed to give their resources to others who are close to a milestone. Thanks all for the assistance. biggrin

I will switch back to OET and work slowly to my 1 year and then 2 year badges.

There are still a few machines attached to my account but are still running FAAH in their caches. But all new jobs on those machines will be OET. Owners, feel free to abort any of these FAAH and OET jobs and detach from me.

I also aborted any unstarted FAAH jobs from my machine making them available for others.
