Thanks for the update. I have added the non-SSL URL to my favourite linke bar in IE, so I can just click it after I sign in as a short term fix.

Maybe the techs can explain why we are forwarded to the forum using https://secure... instead of http://www... I have noticed both work (and there is no nasty popup when using the http variant). Is there some valid security reason for this or is the site just forgetting to redirect us back to http after doing the secure authentication? If we redirect you back to http then you get a popup after login that says 'redirecting to an insecure connection' or something to that effect. Since this occurs immediately after sign in it gives the impression that we are doing something insecure with your login (which it isn't since the sign in process has already completed but perception means a lot). Firefox doesn't give that message but unfortunately IE does. |

...it does NOT happen immediately after sign-in. It happens everytime I use my 'Favourite' link to "Recent threads" which does not involve a log-in. If I click the favourite twice immediately then it goes to http.....
This only happens when I use the link the first time in the IE session, if I do not exit IE then when I return it is always http......exit IE, then the first time is always htts..... |

There continues to be some x-talk. Had the Result Status page up and a WU detail in an additional tab. Opened a new tab and navigated to post something in the HPF2 forum. Hit thread reply and was asked even after so little time to sign in and the last tab also opening into the Result Status page. FFX 3.5.3.

If I click the favourite twice immediately then it goes to http..... Everything that I wrote above was explaining why you are redirect to https after login. You don't see that because we implemented the system so that you wouldn't see it. Given your description, I suspect that you check the 'remember me' box. As a result, when you click the first time, you are automatically signed in. The second time you click it just takes you to the link without signing you in (because now you are already signed in) The side effect of our implementation is that you see the other message (quoted again below) if there are images inserted into a post that is pulled from a http source while you are using the forums with https. I am not aware of an alternative - you will get one message or the other. ![]() |

Somewhere in the Protected, Advanced, Internet AND Site Exceptions Personalized level in the Varia section there's a box for mixed browsing (not going to give you the Italian translations). Tried it this morning and it did not work, then reread and it said to restart IE... then reading Scribe's post I abandoned the dig. I thought I did a whole navigation FAQ or post on this about 1.5 years ago, but maybe it was on something other in IE... brain's numb.

We have addressed the majority of the forum issues reported since the upgrade. In case we have missed some, or people identify new items, please post them in this thread. thanks, Kevin https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/devi...ileConfiguration.do?name= Any way to stop it from shortening links (e.g. ^^^^) so people can copy and paste them directly instead of having to use right-click Copy Shortcut? (the underlying link might actually point to a different URL than the displayed text, of course.) |

The object of shortened links of the very long ones is so they do not push the right margin off the display as you'll have figured, so guess you'll have to do the right click copy link to get the full address. Not found how else to copy these any other way.

Not found how else to copy these any other way. Adding forum's formatting tags might help. For example (no way to stop the forum software NOT to convert stuff in [] to forum tags, so {} are used below for references instead): http{/u}s://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewBoincProfileConfiguration.do?name= Replace the {} with [] will display: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewBoincProfileConfiguration.do?name= |
