Re: Forum Issues - Please post here

Does this forum software have the ability to add an icon to posts to show what OS and/or browser the poster is using for that particular post?

e.g. the way the Fedora Forums do it... here is a sample thread there with a good variety (see the upper-right corner of each post... float your cursor over them for the info).

I think it's done by parsing the user agent string, plus whatever info you've chosen to put in your forum profile (i.e. that would be the ICQ, AIM, MSN and Yahoo IDs, here).

Thanks!

There is nothing built into the forum software that would allow that.

Re: Forum Issues - Please post here

I just noticed that since recent website changes, if I'm browsing the forum pages during statistics upgrades, the line at the top of the page, next to the "Sign Out" button, reads:
> Welcome Back, Rickjb :: Accumulated Points: null :: Current Ranking: null [ Sign Out ]

Displaying the string "null" is usually not what the programmer intended smile

Re: Forum Issues - Please post here

Is there any way in the mvnForum setups to make the 'Quick reply' box reference the original post instead of the last post in the thread?

Even though my post wasn't quoted, apparently "I need a bath" used the Quick reply box so now I cannot delete https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,29238#283700 because the next post in the thread is assumed to be a reply to mine.

Thanks.

Re: Forum Issues - Please post here

A quick reply IS to the last post, so you wont have to quote :D . If you wish to reply to a specific post, then the reply / quote reply link is the way forward.

Re: Forum Issues - Please post here

I always thought the quick reply was to the thread. Admittedly, it clearly states (now that I've looked closer) "to the post" right above the box, but I never noticed it.
