Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Climate Disruption: Cyclone Fatalities Were Larger Prior To Global Warming of Last Two Decades-- http://www.c3headlines.com/2010/09/climate-di...-of-last-two-decades.html

Without reading, would that be the result of early warning systems and better predicting the pathways? "Big business" developed those sat's from your tax dollars and good that the rest of the world also is able to benefit from that real time information age.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Sek no I didn't say that UHI was negligible

I said that the UHI effect would have negligible effect in my modern going forward record which is still in it's trial stage

I never said that the Urban Heat Island effect hasn't had any effect on the historical record to which the modern record is compared

I said we have probably reached the maximum extent (that word again) of our Urban Sprawl given our current economic outlook.

Record declines Sek only occur when you have record maximums to loose. You really should have a look where that red line has been this year

Sek have a look at http://climate.rutgers.edu/snowcover/table_area.php?ui_set=0&ui_sort=2

and see which week is a position 2 for week with greatest NH Snow Cover

Was it this year?

Dave

Read up on your own writings... you've used negligible in a much wider context and to repeat the repeated, more vapor, more snow. And to melt that you need energy again which is more plenty available these decades. Did you miss that "snow-off days" part?

As for your temp record drop in, why don't you share with us what's wrong with the KMWS record. If you don't know what you're processing it will turn into a GIGO effort. Anthony Watts was also pre-heralding his temperature station analysis for several years and then... 8th decimal wrong so everything is wrong?

To visualize your weekly weather view on snow, another chart from Rutgers.

Can you see where the predominant signal is... above or below the anomaly base line?

When one takes the noise and condenses that into seasonal you get this chart:

It's not very hard to understand, that is, by applying your open mind vision.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Have look at the record and you will be able to see what is wrong with it

-99F is a clue

24C one hour -73C the next

This is a faulty weather station

I have carefully audited my inputs at every step of the way hence the amount of time this is taking to set up. I'm left with 2938 station (from the 7345 stations in the NOAA database) giving out valid temperature data from named and co-ordinates available stations around the clock

I have just managed my first successful hourly run

The figure is 20.46 degrees C for around 2100 UTC (remember this is heavily biased stateside)

This is just one hour in one year. I will run for one year to get the first baseline of the "Global Thermometer"

I will make all the METAR data collected freely available so you can audit it if you feel it to be necessary.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

it's been fixed (finger trouble at the station input I think - key bounce)

I wonder how many get through into something like GISS and CRU?

No warning will help if you are in the path--Some go for hundreds of miles--I worked on a house that was hit and pine needles were driven into the wood like a arrow sad
