Re: New error type?

Hi Sek
Here are the WU details:

Result Name: no057_ 00051_ 1--

<core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
ERROR:: Exit at: .\nblist.cc line:711

</stderr_txt>
]]>

There are now 8 errors on this WU and, so far, 26 copies have been issued - there are still a clutch of repairs in progress, so it might work out OK eventually.

Re: New error type?

Dataman,

Think this one is not going away, a replacement to the 401 error except they show 90% less than the old one. My duo running HPF2/HCMD2 mix had 2 logged by BOINCTasks in the past 7 days, both going out within the minute where before it never seemed to have a 401. And then there is the Linux quad, since May 1 just churning away at whatever. No errors of the 401 type, no errors of the 711 type. Ce La Vita Dello Crunch.

Re: New error type?

There doesn't seem to be any clear pattern in the frequency of errors - I have seen them on 'nn', 'nm' and 'no' WU's now, with no bias and seen across a fairly constant throughput of WU's across 5 Pc's not a large percentage of errors but enough to be a distraction and waste of download time - two more failures today on 'no' units - all the same error code, of course.

Gone through the BOINCTasks full available history, to march 23, and only see 3 starting June 21, one of nn, no and nm each. Fortunately, with the 1 day cache setting and the frequency, there are not enough fails to kick the duo out of the R++ ratings... still receiving repair jobs to confirm... still ready to take the A types when time go into the pipe again.

Re: New error type?

There are still a fair number of errors arising - I've had a couple more in the last 24 hrs but I have also had quite a large batch that have processed perfectly OK on the same PC. Where there are errors, it seems that there is then a more widespread problem that generates, on some WU's, a repair rate of 30% or more - with 8-10 errors and up to 30 instances being issued to get a quorum of valid results. It's not at the point where this is a waste of time as the downloads are quite small and have little, to no, overall effect.

There is no better researcher than you Sek! peace My experience is a bit higher occurence. No matter ... It is HOT here and I am just trolling for Beta's and new projects until cooler weather. coffee

@Madmac: There is nothing you can do about the error. Live with it or live without it. smile
