Re: New error type?

Having had a few quiet days, the errors have returned and yet another version of the error report has appeared, this time twice in a day:
<core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
too many iterations in dfpmin
ERROR:: Exit at: .\dock_structure.cc line:401

</stderr_txt>
]]>

Together with two instances of the more usual culprit for error:

<core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
ERROR:: Exit at: .\nblist.cc line:711

</stderr_txt>
]]>

That we all have met before. Is it significant the all errors are now on 'np' WU's rather than the earlier 'no' based errors that arose a few days ago?? I would also add that two errors occured after 3.6 hrs of processing - not the usual 0.1, so I'm less happy about the wasted processing time on these two!!

Re: New error type?

Over the last 7 days I have had 14 more errors, 12 of them have been type '711''s and two of them type 401 'too many iterations' - the last two occurring after 3.6 and 3.71 hours - what a waste of processing time - the majority have stopped after the usual 0.1 hrs, less of a loss, but still annoying.... Oh yes and they were all np WU's

Re: New error type?

Had one just an hour or so ago. Been doing some heavy charting that lasted quite a bit longer than normal (hundreds of thousands of data points) and the HPF2 job that was started during that died at 0.02 hours with the /711. Race conditions in the CPU or x-talk from the GPU, whilst a 20MB file was being addressed on the go... no idea. BOINC 6.10.58 as service, no BM loaded on W7-32 Duo Centrino. Not been booted for probably 2 weeks... no, the Task Manager performance tab says 22:09:26:43 days... time to clean the craveses.

Re: New error type?

I have found that it is quite difficult to build 'up times' of much more than this as the constant arrival of Windows updates inevitably causes reboots (usually at 3.00 am!!) so the probability of junk building up is usually zero - well done Bill G, saving the planet single handed.....!!!!!

Re: New error type?

Windows Update can be set to only warn you that updates are ready to apply (already downloaded and waiting).
Then you activate the actual system update only when it is convenient for you.
