Well, the filesystem error prevented everyone from uploading/downloading work for about one sixth of the day. While we took a hit on today's production, that should be pretty much offset tomorrow when all the work waiting to return does so. I think we'll also make it to a 180 million point pace for the year. We're already very close.

Darn*, I just recently changed my new machine not to download additional work in advance so that I could play around with configuring different profiles to work different projects. Now that this communication bug has happened, System Idle Process has way too much CPU Time on it's hands -_- *edited to appropriate forum language - ErikaT I know how you feel Alain. Sometimes you make really good plans and then something completely unexpected yanks the rug out from under you. But...there is always tomorrow. Hang in there and good to hear from you. |

If you haven't noticed, uploads are working again. If practical, you may want to consider forcing BOINC to retry so that you know for sure that everything that's done has uploaded. The backoff delays BOINC uses can get quite long as the outage continues. However, once uploaded, you still can't report them - which then lets them possibly validate and get points - but that may well be possible once the copying they are doing completes. If you are out of work, you should be able to get some then as well I would think.

Good job team. The outage is/was a pain. Still working on my new machine and hastely ordering the parts I over looked. Really interesting (if you are nerdish!). My production has dropped as moving my office and some machines will be non producing for a bit!

Between the file system outage and another round of hot days here (mid-90's), my points will be down. 3 of my 4 systems have run out of WCG WUs, so I've grabbed a handful of WU's from my current favorite alternate project. While my WCG points will be down, my BIONC credits may be up (and yes, they go to MOT).

I am surprised that I got no comments on my tagline: I had not noticed. How about a day without fusion is like a day orbiting a brown dwarf? A day without fusion is like a day without sunshine.  Or were you referring to the pre-fusion tests being run at the NIF at LLNL? Consider your tagline officially commented on.- D |
