Took 40 minutes to DL 3 WU into one machine. Don't want that to happen again.

Excellent! I was just planning on setting up my quad with linux just to go after the badge, no I can throw the full weight of my network at it, cheers guys!

I am seeing two very similar files being downloaded: cep2.qcaux.zip and cep2.qcaux_6.35.zip both are 69377k. Once we can get the updated version of linux released, we will be able to remove cep2.qcaux.zip. Until then, they both need to be downloaded. |

Nice to get started. I will be interested to see what the share% will become in a week or so. We will be carefully controlling its weight for the first few weeks. In addition to the load that this project can put on the volunteer's computer, the uploads also can overload Harvard's upload server. They have added a second more powerful box that will be receiving these uploads, but we need to carefully raise the volume to make sure that we do not overwhelm their servers. |

I'm downloading onto my 3 windows machines now... is anybody else having a problem where either cep2.qcaux.zip or cep2_qcaux_6.35.zip reach 100% on the transfers tab, but keep downloading well past the 66.16MB they say they are?

I'm downloading onto my 3 windows machines now... is anybody else having a problem where either cep2.qcaux.zip or cep2_qcaux_6.35.zip reach 100% on the transfers tab, but keep downloading well past the 66.16MB they say they are? They finally finished...I guess the actual file size is just larger than the transfer page thinks it is... we'll see how my computers like this project...I had just been running it on a little netbook that I put Ubuntu on primarily just for this project...though it would take anywhere from 12-56 hours per result (running 2 at a time on a Atom 450...I didn't expect much out of it) |

after the initial shock to download the first time, subsequent downloads go much faster.

Time will tell if Harvard can keep up with us. Any bets? With so many people ramping up all at once it should be interesting. Only time will tell. I'm sure there will be issues but hopefully they will be more easily handled after all they learned with the Linux release.
