Re: Clean Energy Project phase 2 Mac and Windows Released

It was interesting watching 40 of them slam into the modem at once. ( laughing ) BOINC sorted them in about and hour. I'm going to suspend some to spread out the complete times on this first round so they don't all complete at once.

Wise decision. I had 8 completing within several minutes. Well, actually only four completed in time. The other four exited with a DLL initialization error and restarted from last checkpoint. Seems too much system load...

Re: Clean Energy Project phase 2 Mac and Windows Released

I tried to get one of these wu's for my windows box but didn't receive any this morning. Not set for wide open crunching though. This is on my westmere win7 machine that I control manually to connect once a day. Are there allot of wu's going out or did the big rush dry the well?

Bearcat, I believe the techs are holding back this project just for the moment, so as to ensure that it is fully working/the Harvard servers can cope etc.

I'm sure that there are WU's out there - just not as many as a fully up-to-speed project (i.e., I got a few more just a little while back).

Re: Clean Energy Project phase 2 Mac and Windows Released

Ya, I changed my projects list to include CEP since the option was available for Windows, however I have yet to get a single WU for it. Any ideas as to why?

Edit: Nevermind...I just had to tell it to not download any other tasks except CEP2 and they came right in.

Re: Clean Energy Project phase 2 Mac and Windows Released

I changed the configuration so as to have no limitation in the number of WU's per machine. I did the test on two machines and I started immediately receiving multiple WU's per machine. So it seems to work for now. Crunching is in process. smile

Perhaps the system requirements page should be updated.

Re: Clean Energy Project phase 2 Mac and Windows Released

I have now 14 WU In Progress crunching. What seems strange to me is that the elapsed time is so far at 6 hours and the progress bar is at 51%. This means that the WU's would take nearly 12 hours to complete.
Here under is one of the WU's at the moment standing at 51% and running.

E200514_ 256_ A.25.C21H14N2S2.69.2.set1d06_ 1-- - In Progress 09.11.10 23:47:11 19.11.10 23:47:11 0.00 0.0 / 0.0

They run on a 980X hexacore with HT. If 12 hours is the standard on such a fast machine then on a slower device it should take much more time. I though that there was a maximum time limit at 12 hours.
So is such a long processing time per WU normal? confused
