Speaking of software, I am wondering what BOINC version is required. I am using 7.0.21 (x64), but haven't picked up any HCC GPU betas yet. I am not exactly complaining, since they will probably seize up my GT 430 and make it unusable for desktop use for a few minutes. But the whole point of the test is to find out what works and what doesn't.
Do I need to use the official BOINC version 6.10.58? |

I am using version 7.0.18 (x64) as I also process POEM @ HOME tasks with my ATI HD 6570 while HCC is being tested. I got two HCC Beta tasks, one of which was validated and the other was labelled "too late" crunching, crunching, crunching. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-core Processor with Windows 11 64 Pro. Thanks. My time will come, whenever it is. Hi, Jim: As I have learned, the key is patience. I'm not patient, but this can sometimes be a good thing as I turned to POEM while waiting for HCC. I wanted to use my GPU and will continue processing POEM tasks as I believe this is also worthwhile research. Yesterday while discussing my plans with a friend who builds and maintains my PCs we found a new GPU for me - an HD 6790 just went on sale at my local computer store as it is now being superseded by another GPU. I will get the new GPU today and it should be running in a few days. Could be interesting. Regards John crunching, crunching, crunching. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-core Processor with Windows 11 64 Pro. There's no must of 6.10.58 use BUT it fully supports the GPU science app versions that WCG is developing... until they stumble on a feature that maybe forces to up, but there's no resources to audit 7 which is far from finished], Sticking to 6.10.58 makes supporting a well known entity a whole lot easier.
----------------------------------------Some have reported resource deployment issues with 7.0.21 on the developer mail list [overcommitting and underutilizing] and reverting to 7.0.20. There's a test version .22 but expecting a new one very soon to test... [I'm monitoring in main to confirm the development remains compatible with WCG's 700 server version]. More scheduling changes to come. --//-- edit: A comment on the developer mail list: Basically, I'm in the same position as http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o562/R_Haselgrove/HPblocksGPU.png except that I've downgraded to v7.0.20 to get the GPU running again. Use 7 entirely at your own risk / or when an other non-WCG project requires a 7 release. No guarantee it works at WCG. Note that the adoption path currently has permanently skipped 6.12. Nothing there, but the Notices tab if you like desktop delivery of news and important client alerts [but be aware, some projects spam that box with bi-daily challenge information] [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 22, 2012 4:27:12 PM] |

I continue to receive the following messages: 3/21/2012 7:34:58 AM | World Community Grid | Reporting 3 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for NVIDIA GPU 3/21/2012 7:35:01 AM | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 3/21/2012 7:35:01 AM | World Community Grid | No tasks sent 3/21/2012 7:35:01 AM | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Help Conquer Cancer 3/21/2012 7:35:01 AM | World Community Grid | Tasks are committed to other platforms What exactly does this mean? I have not received one WCG GPU BETA task yet. I realize its the beta but I have to wonder if something is wrong with my setup. I have two GPU's installed GTX560 ti and GT430. I have recieved many CPU betas for many different projects in the past week, but no GPU. Both GPU's run concurrently with other distributed computing projects without issue. Maybe I'm just unlucky not to have gotten any WU yet Thanks to anyone with any ideas. It simply means that are LOTS of us wanting gpu units but only so many gpu units to go around and there were none available when your pc asked for some. Committed to other platforms means they are testing AMD cards right now, they could switch to Nvidia cards for the next round, they are not saying. They have 'code switches' that lets them chose what kind of cards to send the units out to and even whether it is a Windows, Mac or Linux pc. Be patient you WILL get some as long as your card is capable. |

Some have reported resource deployment issues with 7.0.21 on the developer mail list [overcommitting and underutilizing] and reverting to 7.0.20. There's a test version .22 but expecting a new one very soon to test... [I'm monitoring in main to confirm the development remains compatible with WCG's 700 server version]. More scheduling changes to come. I think there is something to the version after all. After my original re-installation of V7, I saw one request for a new NVIDIA task, as reported above http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ad,32827_offset,40#369549 But thereafter, nothing over a period of 5 days. However, I just installed 6.12.34 (x64), the latest released version, and have already gotten 4 requests for NVIDIA tasks (one when installed, and three more within a half-hour thereafter). So it will teach me to use non-released versions. It always ends in grief, it just depends on how long it takes me to realize it. |

The following two GPU BETAs have errored
----------------------------------------BETA_ X0900060940433200511301505_ 1-- Haumea Error 19.03.12 23:09:45 22.03.12 10:41:56 0.00 130.1 / 0.0 BETA_ X0900060941056200511301456_ 1-- Haumea Error 19.03.12 23:09:45 22.03.12 10:41:56 0.00 130.1 / 0. The error for both is avery short error log. Here they are in order: 1) Result Log Result Name: BETA_ X0900060940433200511301505_ 1-- <core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version> 2) Result Log Result Name: BETA_ X0900060941056200511301456_ 1-- <core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version> Any clue. It seems still that some points were claimed. |

How would overclocking your cpu have any effect on how the GPU runs?
